The funded project for "Women empowerment through skills and business support" has a cross-cutting sessions on and that enable participants to report any forms of the act through the to the FID focal person through complaints and feedback mechanisms.

With the complex conflict in South Sudan, most of PSEA happened as a result of abuse of powers by some individuals which is against principles and most of the are women and children.

"FID stands strong to create awareness to its participants to understand PSEA principles, practices necessary to prevent it based on humanitarian principles of "do no harm". Mr. Agnu, the Program Director of the Foundation stressed.

"Our staff are to be proactive and to take measures to prevent PSEA by ensuring a safe, healthy working environment and respecting the rights of all individuals"

"From Basic Skills, Participants Are Acquiring Full Tailoring Knowledge"

In a training room filled with creativity, determination, and hope, a group of participants undergoing tailoring training provided by with the support from gathered with one common goal, to learn tailoring skills and build a better future for themselves and their families.

Beyond the technical skills, participants learned important lessons about , customer care, quality production,time management; and local markets.

Based on the current economic situation South Sudan is going through,these skills are expected to help them turn their tailoring knowledge into livelihood opportunities and to become self-reliant. As days passed, the participants became more confident.

Their hands became more familiar with the machines,and their creativity began to show through the clothes they produced. With the guidance from their trainers, they learned from their mistakes and encouraged one another to keep improving.

"*FID underscores fundamental principles in tailoring as the art of designing, cutting and fitting*"

In our continued training and interactions with the participants,we offer them accurate skills in sewing tools and equipment, teaching the core theory on tailoring.

With the generous support from the partner the UNHCR, FID trainers gave women skills in alteration and tailoring which is the process of adjusting and understanding ideas of garment features, flattering fit that includes lengthening or shortening, the width,the waistline, adding shoulder measurements.

The participants today learned the theoretical and fundamental principles in tailoring as a complete art of designing, cutting, fitting and finishing making of garments.

However, they practice and keep notes on complete makes.

Building Resilience is Crucial — FID is Moving Forward

Step by step, with the generous support of our partner UNHCR, the Foundation for Inclusive Development (FID) is empowering women-headed households through comprehensive tailoring training.

Tailoring training is crucial for vulnerable women as it equips them with practical skills, knowledge, confidence, and opportunities to become more self-reliant and contribute to their household income after graduation.

Through a combination of theoretical knowledge and hands-on practical training, participants are being prepared to establish and manage their own tailoring businesses within their communities. These opportunities can contribute to long-term financial independence, improved livelihoods, and greater economic empowerment for women and their families.

FID aims higher to reach and support vulnerable women across South Sudan. Together, we can create opportunities, build resilience, and achieve more.

FID Finalises Beneficiary Verification for Tailoring Skills Training

August 27, 2026 | Juba, South Sudan 🇸🇸

The Foundation for Inclusive Development (FID) has successfully finalised the verification and validation process to confirm the eligibility and accuracy of the selected participants for its tailoring skills training in Juba.

The verification process was conducted to strengthen transparency, accountability, and trustworthiness in the selection of the 25 targeted beneficiaries—20 women and 5 men.

With support from UNHCR, FID is implementing the project “Women’s Empowerment Through Skills and Business Support,” aimed at equipping vulnerable community members with practical skills and opportunities to strengthen their livelihoods and economic resilience.

The project inclusively targets members of the host community, internally displaced persons (IDPs), refugees, and persons with disabilities.

FID trainer Mrs. Josephine Achan also took participants through the key topics and training areas that will be covered throughout the project.

“We are committed to advancing our mission of Inclusive Development by promoting equitable access to basic services, strengthening community resilience, and empowering vulnerable populations through transformative and sustainable programmes.”

Together, we continue to empower women and communities through practical skills, entrepreneurship, and inclusive development.

The CEPIC Consortium office and member organizations held their monthly membership meeting on Wednesday, August 26, 2026, at the CEPIC Consortium head office in Juba.

The Foundation for Inclusive Development (FID) was represented among the member organizations that participated in the meeting. The discussions focused on resource mobilization, strengthening collaboration among consortium members, and jointly strategizing on ways to support the CEPIC Consortium’s work and initiatives.

Member organizations demonstrated strong commitment, dedication, and a shared interest in working together toward common goals and delivering meaningful services to communities across South Sudan.

On behalf of its membership partners, the CEPIC Consortium reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening engagement with donors and mobilizing resources to support service delivery and community-based initiatives across South Sudan.

The Consortium also called upon member organizations to identify qualified resource mobilization personnel with strong project development and proposal-writing skills who can work closely with the CEPIC team to strengthen fundraising efforts and develop competitive project proposals.

FID remains committed to strengthening partnerships, resource mobilization, and collaborative action for inclusive and sustainable community development in South Sudan.

FID Environmental Protection & Climate Action

The Foundation for Inclusive Development (FID) continues to uphold its commitment to environmental protection through practical skills in tree planting, climate adaptation, and environmental awareness. We are turning awareness into action by demonstrating practical ways communities can contribute to a greener and more resilient environment. 🌱🌍

As part of this commitment, FID Food Security and Livelihood Officer, Mr. Kidru Solomon, an experienced, dedicated, and committed staff member well known for his passion for environmental protection, demonstrates practical skills in caring for tree seedlings.

One important skill when raising seedlings is understanding how often and how much to water them. Proper watering helps seedlings establish healthy roots and grow successfully.

Through FID’s practical activities, communities and participants learn how to properly care for seedlings grown in cell packs, soil cubes, and other planting systems, including when and how to water them effectively.
