: CONDEMNATION LETTER ON THE VIOLENCE AMONG LOUDIT IN LOU COMMUNITY IN JUBA.
On behalf of the leadership of the Palieupiny Youth Association for Development (PYAD) in Juba, and personally, I want to strongly condemn the violence, physical confrontations, and attacks that occurred on the 10th and 11th of May 2026 among Loudit within the Lou Community in Juba.
The violence reportedly erupted during the opening football match between Awan Parek and Nyang Akoch football teams, and later spread to different houses and residential areas in Juba, creating fear, panic, instability, and tension among community members and the general public.
This troubling violence between brothers and sisters over disputes related to names and identity is deeply upsetting and unacceptable. These actions have negatively affected peaceful coexistence and created unnecessary division within the Lou Community.
It is painful to see community members turning against each other instead of resolving their differences peacefully through dialogue, understanding, and respect. This violence only weakens the unity of the Lou Community and jeopardizes the future of the younger generation.
The leadership of PYAD strongly condemns the use of pangas, guns, and other dangerous weapons against fellow community members. We also denounce the incitement, insults, and hate speech circulating on social media that continue to fuel division, hatred, violence, and tension in Juba.
As youth leaders and thinkers, including graduates, university students, nationalists, and future leaders, we must reject violence and promote dialogue, reconciliation, peaceful coexistence, and mutual respect. Juba is a city governed by laws, and no individual or group has the right to take matters into their own hands through violence, revenge, destruction, or intimidation.
Violence does not resolve problems; rather, it destroys lives, breeds hatred, leads to imprisonment and unemployment, creates fear and revenge, and leaves lasting pain within families and communities.
Therefore, we urge the relevant authorities and law enforcement agencies to intervene immediately, investigate the violence that occurred on the 10th and 11th of May 2026 during and after the football match between Awan Parek and Nyang Akoch football teams, and ensure that those carrying weapons, attacking houses, or inciting violence face consequences according to the law in order to restore calm and stability in Juba.
The leadership of the Palieupiny Youth Association for Development (PYAD) also wishes a speedy recovery to those injured during the violence, and expresses concern for those arrested by the authorities in Juba in connection with these incidents.
We further call upon all Loudit within the Lou Community to promote peace, unity, reconciliation, brotherhood, and dialogue. No disagreement over names or identity is worth the loss of lives, destruction of property, attacks on homes, or the breakdown of community unity.
We extend our heartfelt concern and support to all affected families and individuals during this difficult time. We pray that God grants wisdom, peace, love, and understanding among the people of the Lou Community and guides everyone toward peaceful coexistence and reconciliation.
May peace prevail among Loudit.
May unity overcome division.
May love overcome hatred.
Yours in Peace and Solidarity,
Bol Maliny Mabior
Chairman
