𝗘𝗺𝗽𝗼𝘄𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗺𝘂𝗻𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗲𝘀 𝗶𝗻 𝗕𝘂𝘀𝘀𝗲𝗿𝗲 𝗣𝗮𝘆𝗮𝗺
TOCH South Sudan is supporting communities in Bussere Payam, Western Bahr El Ghazal, to advance gender equality and family well-being through inclusive community dialogue.

On Thursday 14th/06/2026, A total of 49 participants—women, men, and youth—came together to discuss challenges affecting women and girls and identify practical solutions for more inclusive communities.

The engagement strengthened awareness on GBV prevention, SRHR, and family planning, empowering communities to make informed decisions and promote healthier families.

𝗧𝗢𝗖𝗛 𝗧𝗿𝗮𝗶𝗻𝘀 𝗪𝗼𝗺𝗲𝗻 𝗼𝗻 𝗘𝗰𝗼-𝗙𝗿𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗱𝗹𝘆 𝗦𝘁𝗼𝘃𝗲 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗱𝘂𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗶𝗻 𝗚𝗼𝗴𝗿𝗶𝗮𝗹 𝗪𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗧𝘄𝗶𝗰 𝗖𝗼𝘂𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗲𝘀
TOCH South Sudan, successfully conducted a two-day Training of Trainers (ToT) for 20 Model Women in Gogrial West and Twic Counties, Warrap State.

The training that started on 21st April – 22nd April 2026, focused on the production of eco-friendly cooking stoves, equipping participants with practical skills to promote sustainable energy solutions and strengthen community resilience.

Participants engaged in practical sessions, including the construction of eco-friendly stoves, with a live demonstration conducted at Wunrok Payam as part of group work and testing. The stoves are designed to significantly reduce firewood consumption, minimize harmful smoke exposure, and protect the environment.

The lead trainer, Adhet Madut Guot, inspired participants with her story:

The Caritas Norway (CN) Food Security & Livelihood Component is being implemented in Kuach North, Gogrial & Riau Payams of Gogrial West and Wunrok & Turalei Payams of Twic Counties in Warrap State to strengthen resilient and livelihoods among the communities.

𝗧𝗢𝗖𝗛 𝗙𝗮𝗰𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝗮𝘁𝗲𝘀 𝗧𝗿𝗮𝘂𝗺𝗮 𝗛𝗲𝗮𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗥𝗲𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗰𝗶𝗹𝗶𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗶𝗻 𝗔𝗹𝗮𝗯𝗲𝗸 𝗣𝗮𝘆𝗮𝗺, 𝗧𝗼𝗻𝗷 𝗡𝗼𝗿𝘁𝗵 𝗖𝗼𝘂𝗻𝘁𝘆,
TOCH South Sudan successfully facilitated a one-day Trauma Healing, Psychosocial Support Awareness and Reconciliation Dialogue under the Kong Koc Reconciliation Pillar in Alabek Payam, Tonj North County of Warrap State.

The dialogue on Monday 20/04/2026 brought together traditional leaders, community members, and government officials from both Payam and County levels, creating an inclusive platform for reflection, healing, and collective action.

The engagement marked a significant milestone in strengthening social cohesion within the community. Participants openly shared experiences acknowledged past grievances, and collectively expressed a renewed commitment to forgiveness, reconciliation, and peaceful coexistence.

Speaking during the dialogue, Samuel Majok Bol Wol, a representative from TOCH, emphasized the importance of trauma healing in post-conflict recovery.

We were honored to host Norwegian Church Aid (NCA) Country Director, Anne Cathrine Seland, and Head of Programme, Ayen Aleu, during their courtesy visit on Wednesday 22/04/2026 to our Women and Girls Friendly Space in Eastern Bank, Wau, Western Bahr El Ghazal State.

It was an inspiring opportunity to witness the tangible difference our collaborative efforts are making on the ground.

During the visit, the delegation engaged directly with women and girls, hearing heartfelt stories of resilience, growth, and renewed hope.

As a direct result of life skills training and targeted support, women participants have established small businesses, strengthened their financial independence and reduced reliance on external support. Their stories reflect not only economic empowerment but also dignity and confidence restored.

In addition, four girls have successfully enrolled in school, paid their fees, and secured school uniforms opening doors to a brighter future align to our commitment of support girl child education.

TOCH and POF on Thursday, 12th/03/2026 successfully conducted a one-day capacity development workshop aimed at strengthening internal systems and enhancing team performance across the organization.

The workshop is part of capacity strengthening support funded by Peace opportunities funds (POF) focused on key areas including Enhancing Team Performance, Financial Management for Non-Finance Staff, and Compliance and Grant Management.

The training brought together around 20 staff members from both Juba head office and field locations, creating an opportunity for staff to learn, share experiences, and strengthen their capacity to effectively manage projects, improve reporting standards, and ensure compliance with donor requirements.

During the workshop, participants actively engaged in discussions and practical sessions designed to improve teamwork, accountability, and effective program implementation.

Elizabeth Amakou Mawat, TOCH Protection & Education Program Officer, shared her reflection on the workshop:

In his part, Mr. Marko Madut Garang, TOCH Executive Director, emphasized the importance of partnerships and continuous learning.

TOCH South Sudan on Tuesday, March /03rd/2026 joined fellow Kong-Koc Consortium partners during the official handover of twelve newly constructed and renovated rule of law facilities to the Warrap State Government at Romic Headquarters in Tonj East County, Warrap State.

The 12 facilities handed over include Court yards, Prison houses, and Police stations all built by UNDP under KongKoc Phase I, stabilization pillar in hot spot areas.

The ceremony was presided over by H.E. Amb. Bol Wek Agoth, Governor of Warrap State, and attended by senior state officials, including the Commissioners of Tonj East and Tonj North, Warrap State Police Commissioner, Director of Prison Services, state ministers and advisors, consortium partners, and representatives of the local communities.

In his keynote address, Bol Wek Agoth commended kongkoc consortium partners for their dedication and reaffirmed the state government’s commitment to sustaining the infrastructure and services.

He described the facilities as more than just infrastructure, calling them “vital tools for peace” that will strengthen justice delivery systems and contribute to long-term stability across the state.

Mama Anastasie Nyirigira, Head of UNMISS in the Bahr el Ghazal region, underscored that protecting the infrastructure is a collective responsibility and she expressed confidence that justice would now prevail, stressing that no one should take the law into their own hands.

The Kong Koc Area-Based programme (ABP) "𝐋𝐚𝐲𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐅𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐝𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐏𝐞𝐚𝐜𝐞𝐟𝐮𝐥, 𝐒𝐭𝐚𝐛𝐥𝐞, 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐑𝐞𝐬𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐮𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐞𝐬 𝐢𝐧 𝐆𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐓𝐨𝐧𝐣 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐍𝐨𝐫𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐧 𝐋𝐚𝐤𝐞"
was established in Its phase I, in (2023-2025) as a response to address drivers and enablers of decades of unresolved communal conflict in Greater Tonj (Tonj East, Tonj North, and Tonj South) Counties warrap State, and Phase II (2025-2028) program now expands its interventions from the Greater Tonj to Cueibet and Rumbek North Counties of Lakes State to address cross-border conflict and promotes sustainable livelihoods, social cohesion, and improved perceptions of safety through a consortium including UNDP, UNMISS, WFP, TOCH, ADRA, Steward Women and Peace Canal
