CORWADO was born out of the need for a collective platform to drive meaningful change both within its membership and across the wider South Sudanese society deeply affected by decades of conflict, marginalization, humanitarian crises, and resilience challenges. The organization is fully authorized to implement humanitarian, development, and resilience-building interventions across the country.
The Market Systems Development (MSD) and Value Chain Pilot Project, implemented by CORWADO in Magwi and Jur River Counties, aims to strengthen the groundnut and green bean value chains to improve livelihoods and incomes for conflict-affected communities. Using a market-based approach, the project empowers women and youth, supports climate-smart agriculture, and enhances access to inputs, services, and markets.
CORWADO’s interventions include farmer training, cooperative formation, value chain facilitation, and market linkages, with a strong focus on women’s economic empowerment and local ownership. The ultimate goal is to create inclusive, resilient, and sustainable market systems that support long-term community recovery and development.
