Week five of the BiLDD AI Application Bootcamp, participants built interactive web apps with Streamlit, transforming machine learning models into tools everyone can use.

They also kicked off final projects focused on end-to-end AI development. From generating synthetic data to exploring patterns and building models. Participants started thinking beyond algorithms toward complete, impactful systems. Thinking beyond models and towards complete systems.

The 2018 Revitalised Agreement on the Resolution of the Conflict in South Sudan (R-ARCSS) achieved a version of negative peace that was a crucial halt to violence. However, it is yet to achieve positive peace, which is far harder to build.

Lasting positive peace requires functional institutions, equitable access to resources, genuine civic participation, and a shared information environment that citizens can trust.

Today, the Institute for Economics and Peace has used the study of Positive Peace to develop a Global Peace Index, a framework measuring peacefulness that incorporates all social, political, and economic factors sustaining peaceful societies.

In this article and research paper, we delve deeper into how information is a fundamental infrastructure for digital rights and the conditions for positive peace in South Sudan.

During this phase, participants explored the key differences between tthese fields and gained insights into how intelligent systems learn from data, covering everything from data preparation to model training and evaluation.

Digital platforms are becoming central to education, civic engagement, and economic opportunity. Yet for countless young women, these advances remain out of reach blocked by unequal access and the persistent threat of online exclusion and harassment.

DRF together with National Communication Authority - NCA is supporting women and girls through Banat Initiative for Leadership & Digital Development BiLDD and SafetyComm South Sudan, helping them navigate digital spaces with confidence and safety.
