OFFICIAL: Pan Reech Geu appoints Reech Makuol Agok as their interim Youth Leader.

The Nyopiny Youth Association is pleased to announce that Pan Reech Geu has officially appointed Reech Makuol Agok as the new interim chairman of the Pan Reech Geu Youth Association. Reech Makuol Agok succeeds Agok Garang Akec, taking on this vital role to lead our youth into a new chapter of growth and engagement.

We wish to express our sincere gratitude to Agok Garang Akec for his service and contributions to the association. As we transition into this new leadership, we are excited about the fresh perspectives and energy Reech Makuol Agok brings to the community.

Nyopiny Youth Call for Unity Amidst Age-Set Dispute!

State| 07-09 May, 2026 | Bor. The Recent meetings in Bor between the Ric Mamer and proposed Ric Manyang age-sets chaired by the Deputy Governor and the Acting Governor of Jonglei State have highlighted key differences.

Ric Mamer advocates for de-escalation, traditional arbitration, and incorporating the proposed Manyang group for lasting peace. In contrast, the proposed Ric Manyang insists on immediate initiation, rejecting arbitration, and even suggests separation if their demands aren't met.

As elders, Hon. Deng Dau suggested the initiation of proposed Ric Manyang at the alternative initiation site apart from Adubaar with protection, while Hon.Philip Aguer emphasized traditional chiefs' authority and de-escalation.

The Jonglei State Government ordered both sides to vacate Maar and Adubaar before Monday. A final decision on initiation or chief's arbitration is expected Monday.

PRESS STATEMENT: Call for Calm and Halt to the proposed New Ageset initiation ( Ric Manyang)

Dear Nyopiny Community,

The Leadership of Nyopiny Youth Association called for Calm and halted the proposed Nyopiny New Ageset initiation being masterminded and pushed by the few individuals with egos and self-interest.

The idea of two agesets has never happened in the Twic Dinka culture and Nyopiny history. It is uncalled for and it must stop. The few individuals behind this initiative must be condemned.

We speak for peace, for our traditions and for the unity and future of our people. We expect whoever believes in Nyopiny, loves Nyopiny, respects Nyopiny to act responsibly to prevent this crisis.
