Food insecurity in 2027
There is a prolonged dry spell period across South Sudan this year and there 2027 will be a bad period to the already vulnerable population.
YACA advised the farmers to consider the following advice for their resilience
1. Grow dry spell tolerance crop
2. Harvest the rain water
3. Grow Quick maturity crops
Government and NGO to make a plan for the 2027 to serve the lives

🌾 Dry Spell Alert in South Sudan 🇸🇸

The ongoing dry spell across South Sudan, especially in Warrap State and Gogrial West County, has severely affected crops, threatening food security and the livelihoods of farming families. Reduced rainfall has led to poor harvests, water shortages, and increased vulnerability to hunger.

Communities are encouraged to adopt climate-smart farming practices such as early planting, drought-tolerant crops, water harvesting, soil moisture conservation, and tree planting to strengthen resilience against future climate shocks.

Youth Affairs Center for Africa (YACA) calls of ethnicity, religion, political affiliation, or social status.

Remember the Four Humanitarian Principles:
🔹 Humanity – Protect human life and reduce suffering wherever it exist upon all South Sudanese youth to respect and protect humanitarian workers who risk their lives every day to deliver life-saving assistance to vulnerable communities. Humanitarian workers serve people based on need, regardless .
🔹 Neutrality – Do not take sides in political, ethnic, or armed conflicts.
🔹 Impartiality – Provide assistance based solely on need, without discrimination.
🔹 Independence – Humanitarian action must remain free from political, military, or economic influence.

Let us create a safe environment for humanitarian workers to reach those in need. By respecting these principles, we strengthen peace, save lives, and uphold the dignity of every South Sudanese.
