A presentation was held at the IOM office on 31 October 2025 regarding the Solar Thermal Pasteuriser technology, which is designed to eliminate pathogens in black water and faecal sludge using heat generated from solar energy.

During the meeting, it was highlighted that the first phase of the project was successfully piloted at the Rohingya camp in Cox’s Bazar, Bangladesh, yielding positive results and valuable lessons. Building on this success, the project is now entering its second phase, which aims to implement a pilot in South Sudan.

The presentation provided an overview of the technology, shared key outcomes and findings from the first phase, and outlined the next steps for the second phase of implementation.
