Call for Support to Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) in Duk County, Jonglei State, South Sudan.

We call upon all people of goodwill, humanitarian partners, civil society, faith-based organizations, UN Agencies and the international community to urgently support Internally Displaced Persons affected by the ongoing war in Jonglei State, South Sudan.
Thousands of innocent families e.g women, children, the elderly, and persons with disabilities—have been forced to flee their homes and are now living in extremely difficult conditions.
These IDPs are in urgent need of food, clean water, shelter, medical care, education, and protection. Their suffering demands our collective responsibility and compassion.
We appeal for immediate humanitarian assistance and long-term solutions that restore dignity, safety, and hope.
Let us stand together in solidarity with the displaced, uphold human dignity, and work tirelessly for peace, stability, and recovery.

Cholera Relapse in Duk County as per 23rd January 2026 report

Duk County is facing an alarming cholera relapse with a significant influx of IDPs from Uror County and within Duk. Key statistics:
- Total cases 914
- Discoveries 888
- Deaths 26
- Active cases 6

Insecurity has forced locals to congregate along the canal in Padiet and Poktap, leading to rapid cholera spread due to poor hygiene and overcrowding.

Cholera kits supplied by Tearfund have been overwhelmed by the high population.

Recommendations
- Urgent WASH interventions in crowded areas
- Additional cholera kits and supplies needed
- Enhanced surveillance and case management

We request support from partners to address this critical situation.
