Jubafest Initiative The Jubafest Initiative is a cultural organization operating in Juba, South Sudan. Our flagship project is the Jubafest annual festival in Juba.

It’s a cultural oriented organization, with thematic areas of Arts & culture, traditions & history, etc. South Sudan’s population is one of the most diverse in Africa with around seventy ethnic groups. This richness in culture makes collaboration a potential joy but also a major challenge. With all this diversity there has been no platform that brings into light the richness and beauty of South Su

Therefore our project looks forward to bring into light south Sudan cultures and traditions through this project to create awareness about South Sudan cultural diversity, preserve local cultures and traditions and promote artists and artisans to a wider audience. Through this festival we seek to interest South Sudanese and the rest of the world in the identities of the people of South Sudan, in the hope that every South Sudanese will be able to see his or her ways of life displayed side-by-side with their fellow citizens, the message of which is the identification of commonalities while celebrating the beautiful cultural mix of their country.

Our Story

Building a good image of a city or state so as to differentiate it and to make it unique in tourists’ minds is a vital condition nowadays, in a world of global competition. This image may be created by taking advantage of local culture and values’ promotion or by organizing festivals and special events” In order to bring this theory to effect, McGilMo Company limited in collaboration with Event Management Companies and Juba City Council will organize for the first time the Juba City Carnival (Juba Fest)to show the riches of south Sudanese cultures and embrace unity among the south Sudanese people through; Traditional performance, Craft, Street performance, Circus, Spoken word, Visual arts, Traditional and Modern south Sudanese Music etc
