The Communique of The South Sudan Youth Leaders Forum of 20th -21st July, 2026 held at Imperial Plaza.

We, the youth representatives from the ten (10) States and three (3) Administrative Areas of the Republic of South Sudan, together with the South Sudan National Youth Union (SSNYU), solemnly commit ourselves to promoting peace, rejecting violence and hate, advancing democratic participation, protecting constitutional governance, strengthening national unity, and contributing to sustainable development. We pledge to serve as ambassadors of peace within our communities, promote responsible leadership, uphold democratic values, and work collectively towards a united, peaceful, democratic, and prosperous Republic of South Sudan.

Juba, South Sudan โ€” This afternoon, the leadership of South Sudan National Youth Union (SSNYU), together with the office of IGAD Youth Envoy held a constructive meeting with Yacin Kouadio, The Deputy Resident Representative of United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) at their premises in Juba.

The discussions focused on creating inclusive platforms that enable young people to contribute effectively to decision-making processes, while recognizing their vital role in promoting peace, and social cohesion. The meeting concluded with a shared commitment to deepen partnerships that expand opportunities for youth through capacity-building, skills development, civic engagement, and inclusive policy dialogue.

The South Sudan National Youth Union, and the IGAD Youth Envoy reaffirmed the importance of coordinated efforts among development partners, government institutions, and youth-led organizations to ensure that young people are empowered as active agents of positive change in advancing peace, stability, and sustainable development in South Sudan.

The office of Deputy Resident Representative assured the leadership of SSNYU and office of IGAD Youth Envoy of the UNDPโ€™s readiness to supporting youth programs and assured the leadership of how best they can support the Union on the 7 priority areas that the SSNYU presented.

Juba, South Sudan โ€” Today, 23rd of July 2026, The Leadership of South Sudan National Youth Union (SSNYU) together with the office of IGAD Youth Envoy, paid a courtesy visit to the European Union Office. The meeting provided an important opportunity to strengthen collaboration on advancing youth empowerment in South Sudan.

The discussions focused on enhancing opportunities for young people through skills development, Youth Legislations, Youth to Youth Dialogue, entrepreneurship, leadership, innovation, and meaningful participation in peacebuilding and governance.

A key area of discussion was the support for the development of Youth Centres across South Sudan. These centres are envisioned as safe and inclusive spaces where young people can access vocational training, digital literacy, mentorship, civic education, innovation hubs, recreational activities, and psychosocial support.

The South Sudan National Youth Union appreciates the European Union's readiness to support youth-focused initiatives. We also commend the valuable role of the IGAD Youth Envoy in promoting regional cooperation and amplifying the voices and aspirations of young people across the Horn of Africa.

The Union reaffirms its commitment to working closely with development partners, government institutions, civil society, and youth-led organizations to expand opportunities for young people and ensure that no young person is left behind.

The Leadership of South Sudan National Youth Union and the Leaders of 10 States and Three Administrators have today paid a courtesy visit to the Office of Senior Presidential Envoy on special Programs where they engaged with Akoc Akuei Manhiem, The Director of External And domestic engagements, Director of Religious Affairs, Child and Gender and Director of Public Relations, Mr. Albino Kuek. The meeting discussed the challenges facing youth across the country and how the office of Senior Presidential Envoy for special programs can intervene in solving them.
