Hey South Sudan! Did you know that hip-hop can change lives? 🕺

At Breakdance Project South Sudan (BPSSD), we’re on a mission to empower youth through the culture of hip-hop—breakdancing, beatboxing, graffiti, and more! Our talented BootSky Crew mentors guide young people from all tribes, backgrounds, and neighborhoods to learn skills, express themselves, and build confidence.

📍 Where: Gumbo Serikat, Juba – Youth Hub
🕒 When: Monday, Wednesday & Saturday | 3:00 PM – 7:30 PM
🎯 Who: Youth of all ages, beginners & advanced dancers, boys & girls
🔥 What: Breakdance, choreography, leadership, peacebuilding, and self-expression

We welcome homeless youth, refugee returnees, and anyone affected by conflict, poverty, or lack of education. Through dance, music, and art, we are bridging divides, reviving lost culture, and creating a generation of confident, empowered leaders.

BootSky Crew Biography

BootSky Crew is the artistic and performance arm of BPSSD, composed of highly skilled dancers, graffiti artists, and hip-hop enthusiasts. As ambassadors of South Sudanese youth culture, BootSky Crew performs locally and nationally to showcase talent, inspire communities, and promote peace through art.

The crew specializes in breakdancing, choreography, freestyle battles, and mural art, serving not only as instructors but also as mentors to young people in BPSSD programs. BootSky Crew is recognized for its commitment to bridging tribal divides, fostering teamwork, and empowering vulnerable youth to express themselves safely and creatively.

Beyond performances, BootSky Crew engages in community outreach, cultural exchange, and educational workshops to revive the lost culture of hip-hop in South Sudan, proving that dance, art, and music can be powerful tools for social cohesion, leadership development, and youth empowerment.

Breakdance Project South Sudan (BPSSD) is a youth-led social initiative founded by Boniface Khamis to empower, unite, and inspire young people across South Sudan through hip-hop culture. Established in 2020, BPSSD provides free access to breakdance, graffiti, beatboxing, DJing, and rap workshops, creating safe and inclusive spaces for children and youth affected by poverty, displacement, intertribal conflicts, and post-war challenges.

The organization focuses on developing leadership, teamwork, and peacebuilding skills among vulnerable youth while reviving the culture of hip-hop in South Sudan. With programs currently running in Juba, Torit, and planned expansions to other regions, BPSSD has engaged over 1,000 youths, including refugee returnees, orphans, and survivors of trafficking and conflict.

BPSSD’s mission is to transform the lives of young people by giving them a platform for creative expression, building confidence, and fostering unity across tribal and cultural divides. Through dance, music, and visual arts, BPSSD champions positive social change and cultural revival in a country still healing from decades of conflict.
