Community Empowerment Organization for Peace and Development-CEOPD.

Project Title: Children and Community Development project (CCCDP).

Due to the ongoing global humanitarian crisis, out of hundreds of children in South Sudan particularly in Urban-Juba, only few of the girls have the opportunity to go to school.
Families with insecure livelihoods are often forced to compromise the education of their children. Seemingly small costs like exercise books, uniforms, writing and teaching materials become prohibitive and there is work for children to do both at home and within the community.
CEOPD supports School going girls and working children in Urban areas and vulnerable refugee children in refugee settlements in their education in order to protect them from risky migration and exposure to more challenges in cities.
Below is a case of CEOPD's intervention through our dedicated team at Dar Alkitab Nursery and Primary school in Juba carrying out awareness on non-communicable diseases and distribution of sanitary pads to girls of reproductive age aimed at eradicating the related stigma caused by this issue.

CEOPD Calls for Urgent Action:
Transform Juba into a Cleaner, Greener and Healthier City!

Fellow residents of Juba,

Our beloved city is choking under mountains of uncollected waste. Heaps of garbage line our streets, pollute our rivers, and breed diseases that threaten our families' health. Poor waste management fuels flooding, spreads malaria and cholera, and undermines the peace and prosperity we all strive for.
This is not just an environmental crisis it's a public health emergency and a barrier to Juba's growth.

The Community Empowerment Organisation for Peace and Development (CEOPD) stands with you to end this scourge.
We demand:
- Immediate expansion of waste collection services by Juba City Council.
- Community-led recycling initiatives with proper bins in every neighborhood.
- Strict enforcement of anti-dumping laws and fines for violators.
- Public awareness campaigns to foster a culture of responsibility.

Join CEOPD today! volunteer for clean-up. Together, we can reclaim Juba's beauty, protect our children, and build a sustainable future.
A clean Juba is a thriving Juba—act now!

Humanitarian Situation of Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) in South Kordofan
The ongoing conflict in Sudan has led to a significant displacement of civilians into several areas of South Kordofan, including Enpung, Tobo, Alboram among other several hosting counties in the Nuba Mountains in search of safety and basic social services. The influx of displaced families into these areas has created a severe humanitarian crisis, placing immense pressure on already limited resources and services.

Most IDPs arrived after fleeing violence, insecurity, and the destruction of homes and livelihoods. Many families were forced to leave with few belongings and have been unable to return due to ongoing instability. As a result, they are now living in overcrowded villages, informal settlements, schools, or temporary shelters constructed from local materials such as plastic sheets, grass, and mud. These shelters offer little protection from harsh weather conditions, particularly during the rainy season.

Food insecurity is one of the most serious challenges faced by displaced populations in these areas. Many IDPs lost access to their farmland and livestock when they fled their homes. As a result, families rely heavily on support from host communities, which are themselves struggling with limited resources. The high cost of food in local markets has further worsened the situation, forcing some households to reduce the number of meals they eat per day or rely on wild plants and limited humanitarian assistance for survival.

Access to healthcare is also extremely limited. Many health facilities in affected areas are either poorly equipped or not functioning due to shortages of medicines, trained staff, and medical supplies. This has increased the risk of untreated illnesses and the spread of communicable diseases among vulnerable populations, including children, pregnant women, and the elderly.

In addition, access to clean water and sanitation services remains inadequate. Many displaced families depend on unsafe water sources such as rivers or unprotected wells, increasing the risk of water-borne diseases. Overcrowding and poor sanitation conditions in displacement sites further contribute to health risks.

Overall, the living conditions of IDPs in South Kordofan remain extremely difficult. Without increased humanitarian assistance and improved access to essential services, the displaced populations in areas such as Engpung, Alboram, Tobo among other hosting communities will continue to face severe hardship and vulnerability. Urgent support from humanitarian organizations and the international community is essential to address the growing needs of these communities and to improve their living conditions.

Urgent Call for Lifesaving Support: Rescue Education for Nuba Children in South Kordofan.

Dear Valued Partners and Humanitarian Allies,

In the heart of South Kordofan's Nuba Mountains, where conflict and hardship have scarred the land, a glimmer of hope flickers in the eyes of innocent children yet it is fading fast. At Mubarak Sharfaldin Nursery and Primary School in Amsardiba locality, Tangal Payam, over 1,200 pupils tiny hearts yearning to learnv endure unimaginable conditions that threaten to extinguish their futures.

Picture this: Classrooms reduced to crumbling wooden pool huts with leaking grass thatched roofs that collapse under heavy winds, leaving children huddled on dirt floors soaked in puddles. No desks,no offices for staff, no chairs just bare ground where malnutrition-weakened bodies sit for hours. Blackboards? Mere scraps of salvaged wood smeared with charcoal. In the sweltering heat, there's no shade, no clean water, and rampant hunger turns lessons into distant dreams. These are not just inadequate spaces; they are humanitarian crises trapping 1,200 young souls roughly 400 in nursery and 800 in primary in cycles of poverty, illiteracy, and despair.

The Nuba children of Amsardiba just as other areas of Sudan deserve better. They deserve safe roofs, sturdy benches, proper sanitation, nutritious meals, and qualified teachers to nurture their potential. Without immediate intervention, an entire generation risks being lost to ignorance and instability.

The Community Empowerment Organisation for Peace and Development (CEOPD) stands ready to transform this tragedy into triumph. With your compassionate support, we can rebuild Mubarak Sharfaldin School into a beacon of hope providing shelter, supplies, and education that empowers peace and breaks chains of suffering.

Join us today. A modest investment of $50,000 can reconstruct classrooms, furnish essentials, and sustain operations for a year, safeguarding 1,200 futures. Every child saved is a step toward lasting peace in South Kordofan.

Act now because in the Nuba Mountains, education isn't a luxury; it's survival.

Today marks an important step towards unity, cooperation, and collective action among refugees who are committed to serving their communities.
This is our first RLOs meeting with CRA South Sudan Juba.

This meeting provided us with an opportunity to share experiences, identify common challenges, and explore ways of strengthening our voices and capacities. As Refugee-Led Organization, we are closest to the needs of our people, and through collaboration, transparency, and partnership, we can improve our impact and sustainability.

We encourage open participation, mutual respect, and constructive dialogue throughout our discussions. Together, let us lay a strong foundation for coordination, advocacy, and positive change.

Thanks for UNHCR and other NGOs for the guidance.
