Our Girls, Our Societies 🙌

Education has always been the cornerstone of progress, and when we talk about educating girls, we're not just talking about empowering individuals; we're talking about transforming entire societies for the better.

In many parts of the world, girls still face significant barriers to accessing education.
These barriers can be cultural, economic, or systemic in nature, but the consequences are universal.
When girls are denied an education, everyone loses out on their potential contributions to society.

When we educate girls, we unlock a cascade of positive outcomes.

Here's how

1. Economic Empowerment

Education equips girls with the skills and knowledge to participate in the workforce, thereby reducing poverty and contributing to economic growth.

2. Health and Well-being

Educated girls are more likely to make informed decisions about their health, leading to lower maternal and infant mortality rates and healthier families.

Education is a fundamental human right that empowers girls to advocate for themselves and others, challenging gender norms and promoting gender equality.

We must continue to advocate for policies that promote gender equality in education, invest in schools and teachers, and dismantle barriers that prevent girls from learning.

Each of us has a role to play in this movement.
Whether it's supporting organizations that provide scholarships to girls, advocating for inclusive education policies, or simply raising awareness about the importance of educating girls, our collective efforts can make a profound difference.

Let's commit to creating a world where every girl has the opportunity to learn, grow, and contribute to her fullest potential.

WOMEN IN HISTORY

In ancient Greece, women were forbidden to study medicine for several years until someone broke the law.

Born in 300 BCE, Agnodice cut her hair and entered Alexandria medical school dressed as a man.

While walking the streets of Athens after completing her medical education, she heard the cries of a woman in labour.

However, the woman did not want Agnodice to touch her although she was in severe pain, because she thought Agnodice was a man.

Agnodice proved that she was a woman by removing her clothes without anyone seeing and helped the woman deliver her baby.
The story would soon spread among the women and all the women who were sick began to go to Agnodice.

The male doctors grew envious and accused Agnodice, whom they thought was male, of seducing female patients.

At her trial, Agnodice, stood before the court and proved that she was a woman but this time, she was sentenced to death for studying medicine and practicing medicine as a woman.

Women revolted at the sentence, especially the wives of the judges who had given the death penalty.

Some said that if Agnodice was killed, they would go to their deaths with her.

Unable to withstand the pressures of their wives and other women, the judges lifted Agnodice's sentence, and from then on, women were allowed to practice medicine, provided they only looked after women.

Thus, Agnodice made her mark in history as the first Greek female doctor, physician and gynecologist.

For so many years, women have been fighting for equality among men, fighting for a chance to be heard and become whom God has destined them to be.

Some women were not as lucky as Agnodice so they were killed just for having the temerity to have the same dream or passion as men.

Imagine what could have happened if they all sat comfortably without speaking or rebelling against the subjugation of women, you (women) won't be enjoying all these luxury you're enjoying today.

Everything women do that you see as normal were absurd to be done by women years back, the ones we speak against today will be enjoyed by our daughters tomorrow

To my fellow men,
Let's always build, promote and protect our daughters', sisters', mothers' and wives' dignities and better futures

Gone were the days when women were only kept at home for producing kids and cooking food

This current world needs all of us at the workforce

And
To my dear amazing Women,
Do your best in the modern world without blocking ways for the future women (our daughters) by showing the good part of being an educated woman to our societies (Communities).

Be respectful to your husbands always and show him that education is not an alternative to your duties as a wife
Be a wife material always and he will always thinks of educating you more

Equality is not another term (word) for poor behaviors and disrespect towards men

It's Painful, had this helicopter landed😢

▪︎Had this helicopter landed,
the story would have been different.
South Sudan would not have been hell on earth.

▪︎Had this helicopter landed,
ululations of women and giggling of children would have been heard across the country instead of mothers dying in maternity due to lack of proper facilities and thousands of children succumbing to Malaria every month.

▪︎Had this helicopter landed,
the wounded heroes would have seen the ultimate value of what they sacrificed their limbs for.

▪︎Had this helicopter landed,
the group of hungry vultures that have taken over government would have either learned proper governance or sit back and be led.

▪︎Had this helicopter landed,
our future would not have been stolen from us,
but rather a clear forecast of the future would have been projected into the sky for every young man and woman in South Sudan to see and act as a guide for us.

▪︎Had this helicopter landed,
the thick darkness that has dominated the corners would have been illuminated and the tunnel wouldn't have been this long.

▪︎Had this Helicopter landed, Kiir and Riek would have not ruined our future like this.

▪︎ Had this helicopter landed, the mighty citizens would have not suffer from this chronic economic ailment and other insurmountable problems of South Sudan.

▪︎ Had this helicopter landed, Himself the father of this nation would have treated this deadly two cancers called Corruption and tribalism.

▪︎ Had this helicopter landed, our own day, our unforgettable day called 9th of July, the day you fought for without eating for 7 days, without taking water planning for how to free your own people would have not been canceled because of budgets rather than celebrating it with all our hearts .

Women are the real architects of the society.

Around seven years ago
I planned and created " Respect The Dignity Of A Woman " as one of the ways I felt we should use to make this world a better place for the next generation

A woman is a molding machine for a little boy and a grown up man

A society with empowered women is always strong and very powerful in all dimensions

This strength can only be achieved by empowering both the little girls and the grown up women

Female empowerment is all about equipping women and allowing women to make all the decisions related to their life through the different problems in the society.

Empowerment includes raising women’s status through education, career, literacy, training, and other aspects of life.

While working with Plan International-Uganda back in 2016 for Child Protection especially Girl child,
I felt there was still a great need to involve both the civil society and the government to understand girl education and women empowerment.

I am so grateful for the woman I am in love with
She is a great asset to me and my society.

A great leader who is God-fearing only comes from a caring and loving woman who is not mentally tortured or mistreated

Pretty women wonder where my secret lies.
I’m not cute or built to suit a fashion model’s size
But when I start to tell them,
They think I’m telling lies.
I say,
It’s in the reach of my arms,
The span of my hips,
The stride of my step,
The curl of my lips.
I’m a woman
Phenomenally.
Phenomenal woman,
That’s me.

I walk into a room
Just as cool as you please,
And to a man,
The fellows stand or
Fall down on their knees.
Then they swarm around me,
A hive of honey bees.
I say,
It’s the fire in my eyes,
And the flash of my teeth,
The swing in my waist,
And the joy in my feet.
I’m a woman
Phenomenally.

Phenomenal woman,
That’s me.

Men themselves have wondered
What they see in me.
They try so much
But they can’t touch
My inner mystery.
When I try to show them,
They say they still can’t see.

The grace of my style.
