CEF conducted an emergency distribution of food items and non-food items (NFIs) in Agok, and Juoljok payam of Abyei Administrative Area;
In partnership with South Sudan Joint Response (SSJR), Charity and Empowerment Foundation (CEF) conducted an emergency distribution of food items and non-food items (NFIs) to the newly arrived households identified as part of IDPs from Abiemnhom forced by the incident early February 2026.

This emergency response is part of crisis modifier activity aiming to support the affected population of the Abiemnhom incident that caused hundreds of lives and displaced thousands of people from Abiemnhom early February 2026.

South Sudan humanitarian funds -SSHF UN-OCHA (Donor) visits CEF implementation sites in Aweil East and Aweil center counties;

This week on Wednesday , SSHF UN-OCHA team visited our implementation sites in Aweil Center and Aweil East Counties to see the progress and impact of the project to the host, returnees and refugees communities residing in Northern Bahr El Ghazal state.

Since the start of the project last year in November 2025, CEF protection intervention in Aweil Center and Aweil East Counties made a genuine impact on reducing issues of trauma, GBV, and child protection.

With the visit to the implementation sites, the SSHF UN-OCHA team received positive feedback from the community leaders giving the fact on how the project impacted the life of the beneficiaries.

Beneficiaries urged the donor to continue providing humanitarian services linking to additional eradication of trauma, GBV and child protection related issues.

Training of the community leaders on tracing and re-unification of children who separate from their parents/guardians;

With the funding from South Sudan humanitarian funds (SSHF)UN-OCHA, CEF concluded a 4 days training on tracing and re-unification of children who separated from their parents/guardians after fleeing Sudan's recent war in 2023.

400 vulnerable persons supported with Unconditional cash by the CEF;

With funding from South Sudan humanitarian funds (SSHF) UN-OCHA, Charity and Empowerment Foundation conducted 3 days of distribution of unconditional cash to the most vulnerable persons.

The distribution of unconditional cash covers both boys, girls, people with disabilities, orphans, old age both women and men in Aweil East and Aweil center counties of Northern Bahr El Ghazal state.

This distribution of unconditional cash aims to improve the level of income of the identified vulnerable families to cope with the current challenges facing them in terms of health and feeding.

Yesterday, CEF organized GBV awareness with community leaders of Nyalaath payam in Aweil center county. The meeting was attended by youth leaders, women leaders, and sultans who appreciated and urged the humanitarian organizations to keep their efforts against gender based violence on women and girls in Aweil, Northern Bahr El Ghazal state.

Yesterday, CEF nutrition team join farmers in kitchen gardens preparation in Daira village of Abyei Administrative Area.

Preparing farmers on sustainable solutions to food insecurity;

On Wednesday 18th of February 2026, CEF conducted training on nutrition-sensitivity , agriculture and its sustainability.

During the training, farmers were provided with agricultural techniques and ability to grow food from the existing natural resources in Daira, Goli, and Diffra of Abyei Administrative Area.

CEF creates women and girls' safe friendly space;
In most of the areas in South Sudan, women and girls face issues of gender-based violence (GBV) that risks their mental health, physical therapy and emotional safety.

However, with funding from South Sudan humanitarian funds UN-OCHA, Charity and Empowerment Foundation constructed women and girls' friendly space in Malual-Baai, Aweil in Northern Bahr El Ghazal State.

CEF will offer essential services like psychosocial support, health referrals, life-skills training, and social networking to empower women and girls in Aweil, Northern Bahr El Ghazal State.

WGFS will definitely provide the Malual-Baai community free from fear, intimation, violence, allowing women and girls' to escape issues of gender-based violence from male.

Empowering rural communities through sustainable kitchen gardens;

Despite various challenges farmers face during dry seasoning, CEF continuously provides skills and techniques for kitchen gardens at Dokura in the Abyei Administrative Area.

With funding from the Danish international development agency (DANIDA), CEF is constantly working hand in hand with local communities in Abyei while implementing project activities.

The establishment of kitchen gardens by CEF has helped the rural women in Dokura village as they said kitchen gardens have provided an additional income source to them.

It has created an economic empowering path to the market to sell their vegetables that earn them some cash to buy food for their family members.
