Gatakhor Radio Drama

Gatakor- is a radio drama series produced in English and local Arabic. The name Gatakor is a local Arabic name meaning crossing the river. The meaning attached to Gatakor is that “Currently peace is far from the people in South Sudan (On the other side of the river).The people of South Sudan are on one side of the river which they find it hard to cross to other side where there is peace”.

The river in this case represent the bad things in South Sudan (corruption, tribalism, hatred, war et cetera) but also the river has water which is a symbol in one of the traditions in South Sudan that is use healing cleansing misfortunes and difficulties that people might be faced with. So by crossing through the river all difficulties shall be watch away and people will not get back to the current bad situation in South Sudan.

Gatakor Curriculum: includes Youth Empowerment and personal responsibilities, Coexisting and accepting one another, Eradication of Corruption and Discrimination and Gender equity.
