Dr. Justin Yaac Arop-Makerdit

Dr. Justin Yaac Arop-Makerdit was born on 1 January 1938 in Turalei, Twic County. He was a husband, father, and grandfather.

He attended Turalei Bush School, Mayen Abun/Nyamlel Primary School, Tonj Intermediate School, and Rumbek Senior Secondary School. He later joined the University of Khartoum, where he obtained an MBBS degree and further specialized in gynecology at the University of Birmingham, United Kingdom.

He served as a medical practitioner and director in many Sudanese hospitals, including Wau Civil Hospital and Khartoum Teaching Hospital.

Dr. Justin was also a distinguished politician. He served as Minister of Health, Minister of Agriculture, and Minister of Cooperatives and Rural Development in the Southern Sudan Regional Government.

He participated in several peace negotiations, including Abuja, Machakos, Naivasha, and Nakuru, contributing to the Comprehensive Peace Agreement in 2005.

From 2007 to 2008, he served as presidential advisor for decentralization affairs in the government of Southern Sudan.

Dr. Justin Yaac Arop died on 2 May 2008 in the tragic plane crash from Wau to Juba.

The family of the Late. Makuch Chol Nyuol would like to inform relatives, in-laws, friends, Amiol Gemdit, Twic Mayardit Community and the general public that the body of the deceased Makuch Chol Nyuol will be delivered to Wau Airport on Monday, 4th May, 2026.

The plane will take off from Juba International Airport to Wau airport at around 6:00 A.M. Therefore, you are informed to be at Airport early.

It's with profound sorrow that we send deepest sympathy to family and friends of the deceased!

Amiol-Gemdit Youth Association Sends Condolence Message Following Multiple Losses

The Amiol-Gemdit Youth Association for Development in Juba has issued an official condolence message expressing deep sorrow over the untimely passing of three community members, Muzee Nyang Agoth Nyang, Bol Aguek Bol, and Makuch Chol Nyuol.

In a statement dated April 29, the association described the deaths as a painful loss to the community, noting that the three individuals passed away in close succession. The message highlighted their significant contributions, stating that their absence leaves a gap that will take time to heal.

The association called on members of the community to observe moments of silence and prayer, asking for strength and unity during this difficult period. It emphasized the emotional impact of the losses, describing the grief as deeply felt across the community.

The statement was signed by Chairperson Mariang Martin Agoth Mayok, who conveyed condolences to the bereaved families and reaffirmed the association’s support.

“May the departed souls rest in eternal peace,” the message concluded.

Dear friends and good Samaritans...
I would like to emerge you with a very unpleasant information about what occurred to me this early morning.

Toronto grabbed my bag when I was on my way heading to the church for Sunday service and to make matter worse, my bag contains all my original academic documents including others important documents.
Please I beg you to shown your humanity by helping me in recovering them.

The bad test occurred when I was crossing the road near KCB (Kololo Branch).
The little money or cash in the bag are about 340000 SSP and they are not important than the documents.
They so_called Toronto have headed to Newside main road from Seven Day Roundabout.
Please I beg you all to help me with the help of almighty God and with that cooperation, we will find them within short time without delay.
