Banat Power Initiative successfully participated in Morning in the City, a civic education radio talkshow hosted by Naomi Kiden on City FM 88.4, focusing on electoral rights, youth participation, civic engagement, and breaking barriers for youth participation in South Sudan’s democratic transition.

The discussion brought together passionate youth advocates including Diko Janet, Pal Jok, and Santino Mabor, who shared powerful insights on the importance of informed participation, leadership, inclusion, and the role of young people in shaping a peaceful and democratic South Sudan.

The talkshow created a meaningful platform for open dialogue on the challenges young people face in civic and political spaces, while encouraging active engagement, awareness, and responsibility ahead of the 2026 elections.

Banat Power Initiative extends sincere appreciation to Friedrich Ebert Stiftung (FES) and the European Union for their valuable support toward promoting civic education, democratic participation, and youth engagement in South Sudan.

We also extend our sincere appreciation to City FM 88.4 and host Naomi Kiden for creating space for youth voices and constructive national conversations.

Celebrating Achievements: BanatRise Mentorship Program Graduation

We are thrilled to announce the successful graduation of the BanatRise Mentorship Program, a transformative one-month initiative aimed at empowering young leaders in our community. Yesterday, we gathered to celebrate the remarkable achievements of our mentees, and we couldn’t be prouder!
This would’ve not been possible without the support from Amref Health Africa in South Sudan and funding from UNFPA South Sudan. And Scenius Hub for always opening your doors.

This year's graduation ceremony was graced by the inspiring presence of Rebecca Joshua Okwaci, a former Chief Whip and an esteemed freedom fighter. Her commitment to social justice and leadership serves as a beacon of hope and motivation for all of us. In her keynote address, Rebecca emphasized the importance of resilience, courage, and the relentless pursuit of one’s goals. Her words resonated deeply with our graduates, encouraging them to use their voices to foster positive change in their communities.

In just one month, the BanatRise Mentorship Program provided a wealth of experiences and learning opportunities. Here are some key points from the journey:

1. Skill Development Workshops: Mentees participated in dynamic workshops focused on leadership, advocacy, and personal development. These sessions equipped them with essential skills to navigate challenges and seize opportunities.

2. Networking Opportunities: Participants connected with accomplished women leaders across various sectors. These interactions provided invaluable insights and fostered relationships that will support their future endeavors.

3. Supportive Environment: The program fostered a nurturing community where mentees could share experiences, challenges, and victories. This emotional connection created bonds that will last beyond the program’s duration.

At the ceremony, we proudly presented certificates to our graduates, each symbolizing hard work, dedication, and a commitment to making a difference in just one month. Watching these individuals cross the stage filled us with joy; they embody the hope for a brighter future.

As we concluded the event, it was evident that the BanatRise mentorship program is more than just an educational initiative; it is a movement of empowerment and change. Together, we are building a community of strong, capable leaders ready to tackle the pressing issues facing our society.

To all of our graduates, congratulations! Your journey doesn’t end here. We encourage you to continue leveraging the skills and relationships you’ve built through BanatRise. As you step into your next chapter, remember that you have the power to create positive change wherever you go.

A heartfelt thank you to everyone who supported this program, including our mentors, partners, and participants. Together, we are creating a legacy of empowerment and leadership that will resonate for generations to come.

🌟 **Stay connected, stay inspired, and let’s continue rising together!** 🌟
