CPA Recognizes Dr. Maker Isaac Wel for Exceptional Service to South Sudan

The Center for Peace and Advocacy (CPA) is proud to recognize Dr. Maker Isaac Wel, Medical Director at Juba Teaching Hospital, for his extraordinary dedication and unwavering commitment to public service.

Dr. Maker Isaac Wel has consistently demonstrated exceptional leadership and work ethic, going above and beyond the call of duty in serving the people of South Sudan. Over the past three years, CPA has closely observed his service, noting that he regularly works weekends — including Saturdays and Sundays — out of love for his country and his strong sense of duty as a loyal citizen.

Such selfless dedication deserves national recognition. CPA strongly believes that Dr. Maker Isaac Wel should be honored with a "Hardworking and Loyal Citizen Award" for his tireless efforts to improve healthcare services and for putting the needs of South Sudanese citizens above his own.

We call upon the general public, civil society organizations, and government institutions to support and acknowledge individuals like Dr. Maker, who embody the true spirit of patriotism.

Call for Application for Hunan Rights Defenders at risks by Justice & Peace for Shelter City Netherlands. for Human Rights Defenders at Risk.

🌍 Shelter City is a global movement of cities, organizations, and people who stand side by side with human rights defenders at risk. Shelter City provides temporary safe and inspiring spaces for human rights defenders where they can re-energize, receive tailormade support, and engage with allies. They offer personal accompaniment throughout the stay and 10 days of capacity development workshops in topics such as security and advocacy.

📅 The temporary relocation is for a three month period starting in March 2026. At the end of the stay, participants are expected to return with new tools and energy to continue their vital work at home.

🚩Check out the eligibility criteria, there are important aspects to take into account like the level of English, mobility restrictions (no judicial prohibition to leave the country), etc.
