Update from Aweil Sub-Electoral Committee Regarding the Election

Following the incident on December 3, we advised the observer to suspend the General Assembly meeting. However, on December 4, 2024, we received a letter from the South Sudan Football Association (SSFA) proposing December 5, 2024, as the new date for the election. After thoroughly analyzing the letter and the prevailing situation, we decided to remain at our residence to monitor developments. We firmly believe that without addressing the root causes of the current problems, finding a lasting solution is unlikely. A partial resolution does not constitute a true solution.
Misinformation about the committee's loyalty to the current leadership of the association has further exacerbated tensions, fueling an already volatile situation. This baseless propaganda has undermined the electoral process. Those familiar with the electoral code understand that the committee operates independently. We were elected in 2017 and reelected in 2021 by the same General Assembly. Our tenure predates the current Board of Directors. During this time, we successfully organized 22 national and local elections.

We recognize that accusations are common in electoral processes, as they are inherent to such assignments. However, when accusations escalate into defamation, they become unacceptable. The committee is documenting the individuals responsible for spreading exaggerated propaganda and is prepared to pursue legal action against them.

Furthermore, the committee has determined that the current situation is not conducive to holding elections. The lack of proper arrangements by the local association, the absence of support from relevant authorities, and the unprofessionalism that has created a toxic environment make it impossible to proceed. To address these challenges, we have decided to consult further with the SSFA and other stakeholders before making a final decision on the election.

We remain committed to updating the football fraternity as developments unfold.

Statement on Aweil Election's
On 3rs of December, the Sub-Electoral Committee of the Aweil Local Football Association published the final list of candidates and the final list of members of the General Assembly. However, the exclusion of some candidates from the list has caused significant misunderstandings within the sports fraternity, prompting many members to consider boycotting today's General Assembly. They believe that certain parties have interfered in the process.
The committee wishes to clarify to the sports community in Aweil that all actions taken are in strict accordance with the provisions of the laws regulating football. Every electoral process has its own conditions and regulations, and the inclusion or exclusion of a candidate from the initial list does not signify the conclusion of the process.
It is important to note that a higher authority, the Appeals Committee, has the final say in such matters. Its decisions are binding and cannot be contested, as explicitly stated in the amended 2012 Electoral Code. The committee believes that a lack of familiarity with these laws, coupled with exaggerated propaganda against the committee on social media, has contributed to the misunderstandings. This has created significant miscommunication between the committee, GA members, and some relevant authorities.
Additionally, at the beginning of the process, both the committee and the candidates faced numerous challenges, including interference from certain government institutions. Despite these obstacles, the committee has worked tirelessly to overcome them in the interest of advancing football in the state.

We urge all members of the sports fraternity to remain patient and committed to resolving these issues in a manner that upholds the integrity of the electoral process and the development of football in Aweil.

Today, the Sub-Electoral Committee of Kuajok LFA published the initial list of candidates for the positions of President, Vice President, Secretary, and Treasurer. The list includes two candidates for the Presidency, five for the Vice President seat, four candidates for the Secretary seat, and two candidates for the Treasurer seat.

Members of the Sub-Committee for KLFA Election Safety arrived in Kuajok, the capital city of Warrap State, to conduct the election for the Board of Directors of KLFA. The tenure of the outgoing board members ended on October 3rd, 2024. Therefore, the General Assembly will convene on October 11th in Kuajok City, to elect new board.

الانتخابات التكميلية لاتحاد واو المحلي لكرة القدم.
بعد ان اكتملت كل الاجراءات التحضيرية بواسطة لجنة الانتخابات الفرعية، سينعقد يوم غدا السبت الموافق ٧ اكتوبر ٢٠٢٣ بمدينة واو الجمعية العمومية الغير العادية لاتحاد واو المحلي لكرة القدم وذلك لانتخاب اعضاء جدد في مجلس ادارة اتحاد واو المحلي لكرة القدم لملأ المقعدين الشاغرين في مجلس الإدارة وهما مقعد نائب الرئيس ومقعد امين المال، ويذكر بان المقعدان شاغران نسبة لانتقال نائب الرئيس الى الرفيق الاعلى قبل عامين (له الرحمة والمغفرة) وايضا لتكليف امين الخزينة بمنصب حكومي في الولاية حيث أصبحت نائبا لعمدة بلدية واو.
ويتنافس مرشحان على مقعد نائب الرئيس وهم السيد / هيثم عيسى والسيد/ جوفري مارشيلو ومرشح واحد لمقعد امين الخزانة وهو السيد/ الطاهر رمضان وستقوم لجنة الانتخابات الفرعية برئاسة الاستاذ/ ايويل لازور كون بأعلان النتائج فور اكتمال عملية التصويت والفرز والعد.

After all the preparatory procedures have been completed by the Sub-Electoral Committee, the Extraordinary General Assembly of Wau Local Football Association will be held tomorrow, Saturday, 7th of October, 2023, in Wau city, to elect new members to the Board of Directors of the Wau Local Football Association to fill the two vacant seats in the Board of Directors, which are the Vice President and the Treasurer seat, and it is noteworthy that the two seats are vacant due to the death of the Vice President’s two years ago (may God have mercy and forgiveness) and also the appointment of the Treasurer into government position in the state, where she's became Deputy mayor of the municipality of Wau.
Two candidates are competing for the Vice President seat and one candidate for the Treasurer seat, and the Sub-Electoral Committee headed by Advocate/ Ayuel Lazuru Kon will announce the results as soon as the voting and counting process is completed.
