🌍 Torit Town Hall Meeting
Community Engagement on Development and Resilience - CEDAR in collaboration with Search for Common Ground in South Sudan, are organizing a town hall meeting on Thursday, 21st November 2024, in Torit.

The event will bring together chiefs, government officials, CSOs, women and youth representatives, members of the Police Community Relations Committee (PCRC) and Women Peace Network (WPN); to address conflict-related issues and develop actionable solutions for promoting peace and community safety and security.

Day 3 of 3: Annual Planning Workshop for 'Just Future' Partners.

The Workshop concluded today on a high note with an engaging presentation by Harriet Dumba from WOPAH, focusing on gender transformation approaches in South Sudan.

This was followed by additional presentations addressing the youth engagement, as well as the progress and lessons learned from our advocacy efforts.

Day 2 of 3: Annual Planning Workshop for 'Just Future' Partners.

Today's session was very engaging, with all participants actively involved in the discussions.

The participants were divided into 3 groups based on their respective Outcome Areas: People-Centred Security, Access to Justice, and Inclusive Peace Processes.

The discussions focused on:

🟦Identifying and Mapping the main Stakeholders.

🟦Setting Realistic Objectives for 2025.

🟦Identifying Pathways to objectives.

Exciting kick-off for the South Sudan Just Future 2025 annual planning workshop!
Hosted at Fairway Hotel in Kampala Uganda from August 27-29.

Day 1 was all about getting to know each other and diving deep into our mission.

We explored context analysis to navigate the evolving landscape and to better understand our changing environment, discussed lobbying and advocacy strategies, and brainstormed sustainability initiatives, including innovative fundraising efforts to support our mission as Just Future Alliance

Proud to have three dedicated members from CEDAR representing us: our Project Coordinator, Communication Officer, and Field Officer.

CEDAR held a town hall meeting on August 9, 2024 in Nimule, which was well-attended by all invited stakeholders.
Notably, our donor partner, SFCG, was present to witness the proceedings, with a total of 46 attendees participating in the discussions.
Several critical issues impacting the community were addressed during the meeting, including land grabbing, theft, gender-based violence (GBV), forced marriage, and youth conflicts.
The presence of the Pageri Payam Administrator added significance to the event, which drew a large crowd and fostered an engaging dialogue among attendees.

SFCG, in collaboration with our Just Future partners, has kicked off a comprehensive 5-day workshop focusing on Lobbying and Advocacy alongside Conflict Sensitivity.
Starting yesterday, at Juba Landmark Hotel-Juba , July 15th, and running until July 19th, 2024. We are thrilled to have over 25 passionate participants join us in this impactful training.
