Climate YES South Sudan Climate YES is a Christian youth advocacy network uniting young people from all denominations to champion climate justice in South Sudan.

Climate Change is real. The impact is being experienced by children, youth, and adults in their daily lives. In South Sudan, young people are raising their voices to advocate for swift action through the Climate YES (Youth Ecumenical Summit). They encourage that action starts at the individual level. Today, we feature a key message and call to action from Mr. Ali Juma, a primary eight pupil and candidate at Baraka Central Primary School in Juba.

Climate YES South Sudan will continue to inspire these young voices to amplify advocacy within South Sudan communities, and will continue to use the media as an immediate advocacy tool.

We are grateful to the wonderful work of the media. Climate change is very real threat, however, as young people take strategic steps towards climate resilience and mitigation, such effort would only remain within limited circles and with limited impact. But we are proud that the media is ever present and always addressing this gap.

Christian Youth Unite to Champion Climate Justice in South Sudan

Juba, South Sudan – June 6, 2026
Climate YES South Sudan has officially launched its movement in the country, bringing together Christian youth to champion climate justice and environmental stewardship. The launch event, held at Divine Mission Pentecostal Church, attracted more than 50 young people from diverse backgrounds. The gathering provided a platform for learning, inspiration, and dialogue on climate change, equipping participants with knowledge and motivation to engage in advocacy and community action.

Climate Youth Ecumenical Summit (Climate YES) is a multinational youth climate movement that brings together Christian activists from the Global North and Global South to advocate for climate justice and sustainable environmental practices. The launch of Climate YES South Sudan marks an important step in strengthening youth-led climate action in the country.

In South Sudan, the network brings together young people from all denominations to champion climate justice.
