Through the Mentor Mothers Programme, NEPWU is transforming lives by ensuring pregnant and lactating mothers receive the support, information, and care they need to protect themselves and their babies from HIV.

With support from the Global Fund, we are strengthening communities by promoting HIV testing, treatment adherence, PMTCT services, and reducing stigma and discrimination among mothers and positive clients.

Together, we are building healthier families, one mother at a time.

On this special day, the National Empowerment of Positive Women United (NEPWU) joins all South Sudanese in celebrating the strength, resilience, and hope of our nation.

As we commemorate our Independence Day, we honor the sacrifices of those who fought for our freedom and remember the responsibility we all share in building a peaceful, healthy, and prosperous South Sudan.

At NEPWU, we remain committed to empowering women, supporting people living with HIV, protecting the rights of key populations, and ensuring that no one is left behind. We believe that a stronger nation is built when every person has access to healthcare, dignity, equal opportunities, and the chance to live free from stigma and discrimination.

This Independence Day, let us renew our commitment to unity, compassion, and working together for a future where every South Sudanese can thrive.

Our dedicated Mentor Mothers recently conducted an impactful community outreach session in Tonj! Today, they were on the ground sharing vital information on preventing mother-to-child transmission of HIV and raising crucial awareness about TB prevention.

Through education, support, and shared experiences, these incredible mothers are empowering families, breaking stigmas, and building a healthier, stronger future for our children and the entire community.

Together, we can ensure every child is born healthy and every family stays protected! 💪🩹

HARNESSING RADIO FOR HIV PREVENTION 🎙️

At NEPWU, we recognize the power of radio as a vital tool for HIV prevention, awareness, and community empowerment. Through engaging radio programs, we are reaching communities with life-saving information and helping to create a healthier and more informed society.

We successfully participated in a Validation Workshop aimed at reviewing and validating 20 key community priorities that require urgent action to improve HIV, TB, and Malaria services across South Sudan.

The workshop brought together stakeholders and community representatives to ensure that the identified priorities truly reflect the realities and needs of the people we serve.

Among the validated priorities were reducing stigma and discrimination, improving access to quality health services, strengthening community engagement, promoting human rights, and enhancing accountability in health service delivery.

This important step marks our continued commitment to advocating for inclusive, people-centered, and equitable healthcare services for all communities in South Sudan. Together, we can build a healthier and stigma-free society.

We would like to sincerely appreciate Radio Miraya for giving us the opportunity to host a radio talk show on HIV stigma and discrimination.

The session provided an important platform to sensitize communities on the harmful effects of stigma and discrimination against People Living with HIV (PLHIV), especially in schools, health facilities, and communities.

Together, we can create a supportive, informed, and stigma-free society where everyone can access HIV services without fear or shame.

Thank you, Radio Miraya, for standing with the community in the fight against HIV stigma and discrimination.

A NEW CHAPTER IN HIV PREVENTION IS HERE.

Long-acting injectable PrEP (Lenacapavir PrEP) offers hope, choice, and protection for people at risk of HIV.

One injection can support prevention for months, helping reduce the burden of daily pills and bringing prevention closer to the people who need it most.

Together, we can end new HIV infections while leaving no one behind.

We succesfully concluded a two-day Pan Prevention Workshop for HIV Prevention Champions aimed at developing a Project Learning & Evidence Agenda and Action Plan for South Sudan.

The training, organized by the [South to South Learning Network](https://www.s2slearningnetwork.org?utm_source=chatgpt.com), strengthened collaboration, peer learning, and innovative approaches to HIV prevention advocacy and programming.

Together, we remain committed to advancing evidence-based HIV prevention interventions and ensuring no one is left behind in the fight against HIV in South Sudan.

Mentor Mothers are changing lives every day by supporting HIV-positive pregnant women with care, counseling, and hope. Through health education, follow-up, and encouragement, Our Mentor mothers in Bor County (Pariak PHCC, Anyidi PHCC, Makwach PHCC and Kolnyang PHCC) are helping mothers stay on treatment and give birth to healthier, HIV-free babies. Their dedication continues to strengthen communities and contribute to the fight against HIV/AIDS in South Sudan.
