If I should fall, remember me not with tears but with celebration.
For if I die, let it be known that I died for our children, for our mothers,
for the innocent souls whose pain I could not watch in silence.
I refuse to live in a land where suffering becomes normal,
where the dreams of our people are traded for personal comfort.

This is not the South Sudan our forefathers envisioned.
They bled for peace, they dreamed of prosperity,
and we owe them a nation worthy of their sacrifice.

Cry, the beloved country.
South Sudan, my oath, my country, my loyalty.

I do not know who advised this unprofessional SSPDF soldier to think that Nuer are the enemies. Someone need to tell them that Nuer is one of the 64 tribes in South Sudan and they are not the enemies of the state, they are the citizens of this country and they are supposed to be protected by the so call SSPDF which is supposed to to be the national army.

The leadership of the SSPDF is supposed to investigate and arrest such individuals that are tarnishing the image of the national army. These people need to know the differences between the Nuer as a tribe and the SPLA/IO as a rebel group.

I stand in solitary with the Nuer people and I strongly condemned such act of labelling the tribe as the enemy of the state because of the few individuals who head the rebel group that happened to be from one of the tribes.

the Nuer community
of South Sudan my country, my loyalty.

CESCSN condemns killing of student in Yei, demands justice

The Central Equatoria State Civil Society Network (CESCSN) has condemned the tragic killing of Emmanuel Kanjo Kennedy, a Senior Three student at Immanuel Model Secondary School, who was murdered on 7 December 2025 in Yei River County. Kennedy, a popular young footballer, was reportedly attacked by unknown armed men who stabbed him and broke his neck, leaving another person critically injured.

CESCSN described the incident as a grave violation of the right to life and raised concerns over a surge in knife-related attacks reported in Yei this month.

The network is calling on authorities to launch an urgent, thorough, and impartial investigation to bring the attackers to justice.

CESCSN also urged the government to strengthen security in Yei amid increasing cases of road ambushes, abductions, and targeted killings.

The network further appealed to the public to reject violence and work together to promote peace in the community.

Our children are being tested on bare floors while politicians sit on leather chairs bought with public money. This is not just unfair—it’s unacceptable. Quality education is not a privilege; it is a right. We demand investment in classrooms, desks, teachers, and learning materials. We demand accountability. We demand better. South Sudan’s future cannot be built on empty promises. It must be built on educated children. The time for real change is now.

South Sudanese Mother And Housewife Commits Su***de in Nairobi

A young South Sudanese mother of two, Akuch Manyuon Kuol originally from Bor County, has tragically taken her own life in Nairobi after enduring prolonged mistreatment from her husband and his family — who are also from Bor County.

According to close relatives, Akuch had been crying out for help, repeatedly seeking counselling and support from her family. But each time, she was sent back to her marital home and told to endure it “for the sake of her children.”

Sadly, that pain became too heavy to bear. Akuch later returned home and took her own life. Her last born child is only one year old.

This heartbreaking story is a reminder that mental health struggles and domestic abuse are real, and silence kills.
Let’s stop telling women to “go back” when they cry for help. Let’s listen, protect, and support them before it’s too late.

🕊️ Rest in peace, Akuch. May your story awaken compassion and change.

BREAKING NEWS: Ateny Wek Accuses Vice President Bol Mel of ‘Controlling Even President Kiir’s Breath

Former Press Secretary in the Office of the President, Ateny Wek Ateny, has raised concern over what he described as the growing influence and overreach of Vice President Dr. Benjamin Bol Mel within government affairs.

In a length public statement by Ateny responding to Hon. Ariech Mayard Ariech, Ateny questioned Dr. Bol’s conduct, accusing him of overstepping his authority and interfering with matters that fall under the direct prerogative of President Salva Kiir.

“So, who is Dr. Benjamin Bol Mel to overstep President Kiir’s trust and go scot-free?” Ateny asked. “Why did he attempt to control even the President’s breath? Changing the President’s personal bodyguards was not only strange but unbecoming,” he added.

He further alleged that Dr. Bol’s influence extends across several key areas of government, including the economy, military, governance, and the judiciary. Ateny urged President Kiir to intervene, warning that the country risks “a crossroads” if action is not taken to restore presidential authority.

“President Kiir’s immediate intervention is highly needed to arrest this surge in Dr. Bol’s unauthorized control of power,” Ateny said. “No one is capable of controlling everything from behind. The people of South Sudan are watching, the country belongs to all of us.”

Ateny also hinted that he is considering writing a book detailing what he termed Dr. Bol’s “excessive meddling” in presidential affairs.

Dr. Benjamin Bol Mel has not responded publicly to Ateny’s claims at the time of writing.

STATEMENT ON THE MISCONDUCT OF DEPLOYED FORCES IN BOR TOWN

It is deeply unfortunate that the soldiers deployed in Bor Town for disarmament under the directive of the Chief of Defense Forces, Dr. Paul Nang, have resorted to acts of indiscipline, engaging in drinking and intimidating the very civilians they are mandated to protect.

We strongly condemn such unlawful and unprofessional behavior. These actions not only undermine the integrity of the South Sudan People’s Defense Forces (SSPDF) but also inflict further suffering-both physical and psychological-on the already vulnerable civilians of Bor Town.

We therefore call upon the SSPDF leadership to take immediate action by investigating these incidents and withdrawing the undisciplined forces. It is imperative that the military upholds its sacred duty to protect citizens, not to harm or intimidate them. By Francis Malook Lual
