OFFICIAL PRESS STATEMENT.

CONDEMNATION OF DEFAMATORY PROPAGANDA AND UNFOUNDED ALLEGATIONS BY MR. ONEN AGAINST GOVERNOR EMMANUEL ADIL ANTHONY

It has come to our notice with utter dismay that one Mr. Onen, a Social Media propagandist, has been observed by the Kakwa community and concerned stakeholders persistently publishing a seemingly politically motivated propaganda campaign against the person and office of Governor Emmanuel Adil Anthony.

Over the past few days, it has become clear that these attacks are not grounded in a quest for accountability but are driven by personal animosity and presumably external political influence. We wish to address these fabrications with the following concerns and clarifications:

1.Defamation and Attacks on the Identity of Governor Adil.

The baseless attacks on Governor Adil’s identity and the falsification of theft allegations are not merely "political opinions"—they are defamatory crimes.

The community condemns, in the strongest possible terms, any attempt to weaponize identity for political gain.
Identity is a fundamental human right and is not for sale, nor for exchange. Fabricating criminal narratives to tarnish a leader's identity and reputation is a violation of both social ethics and the law.

2. Concerns on Land Management and Governance.

Mr. Onen’s narrative regarding "land grabbing" displays a profound ignorance of state administration of land in CES or a deliberate attempt to mislead the public for ill reasons known to him:

Institutional Procedures: We know that land management is the constitutional mandate of the State Ministry of Housing & Physical Infrastructure at the State level and the Payams and County. It is not managed by the Governor’s Office.

Collective Decision Making: We also know that any state-run demolitions or land reorganizations are often the result of collective decisions made by the Cabinet, or established technical committees, which we often see their establishments not only during Governor Adil’s tenure but during many Governors’ tenures that came to power in the past. Sometimes, demolitions are often prompted by competent Court Orders involving disputes between individuals, not the State Government. The County or City Council also has a role to play in such collective decisions or actions. The office of the Governor provides Policy direction and guidance, not acting on the ground to grab land or demolish houses.

The Rule of Law: Governor Adil is a leader within a system of Policies and laws; he does not act as a "one-man" entity in matters of land administration. The State Government systems are operational, including the legal entities, the security committee, and established ad-hoc committees for specific matters, adding to the legally established Institutions.

You might be aware that the family of Governor Emmanuel Adil Anthony is already in the process of initiating legal procedures to address these defamatory claims. As a community, we urge Mr. Onen to consider the following:

Verifying his Evidence vs. Fabrications : If he possesses genuine evidence of his claims, he is challenged to present them before a court of law rather than hiding behind social media.

Functioning of our Courts: Our courts are fully functional and equipped to handle grievances. Countless related matters have been resolved through the judicial system rather than through irresponsible, politically motivated digital character assassination.

*Remember that:* If any individual(s) has a grievance against the Governor as an individual, they are free to open a case and prove their claims in court.

The community further caution Mr. Onen to immediately desist from promoting narratives aimed at diverting public attention from the essential goals of peacebuilding, rule of law, and development. If his intentions are good (meant for accountability), let him follow legal procedure to prove his allegations.

The Kakwa community stands firm against these irresponsible acts and urges Mr. Onen to withdraw his false statements. We remain committed to supporting leadership that prioritizes the stability and progress of our state over petty, malicious propaganda. Neither do we support nor promote oppression, land grabbing, and division within our society.
