TO: H.E. Gen. Salva Kiir Mayardit, the President of the Republic of South Sudan
Your Excellency,
I would like to thank the Almighty God for His guidance and grace as I diligently served the people of South Sudan in the Relief and Rehabilitation Commission (RRC) as Chairperson. I am privileged and honored to extend my gratitude to H.E. the President of South Sudan, Gen. Salva Kiir Mayardiit, for his leadership and the trust bestowed upon me as I endeavored to steadfastly implement the government's humanitarian, relief, and coordination programs. My commitment to humanitarian and community services for our people will never end, even though I am relieved of my position in the RRC.
My one-year journey in the RRC has enshrined in me great experiences and wisdom. Under your kind leadership, I was able to learn and mitigate various challenges encompassed in the humanitarian scope. Mr. President, I wholeheartedly share my pleasure in working with you under your esteemed leadership. My 'Journey of Hope' for the people of South Sudan will still remain firm.
I also would like to take this golden opportunity to thank my Minister, Hon. Albino Akol and my Deputy Chairperson for their wonderful support to my career during our mutual day-to-day engagement in the humanitarian arena.
Again, I would also like to thank my colleagues within the RRC, specifically the Directors General and Directors, as well as the entire staff of the RRC, for allowing me to lead the show within the RRC to make everything work successfully. I would also like to thank our partners, the UN agencies and NGOs, for supporting the people of South Sudan, and my colleagues in the line Ministries with whom I worked closely.
To all my family, community, and friends, I appreciate your love, care, and support. I would not have done this alone without your unwavering support.
I congratulate the new incoming Chairperson of the Relief and Rehabilitation Commission, Hon. Stephen Kueth Gach, for the trust placed in you by the President to lead the institution. I am looking forward to supporting you in whatever way during your time in office.
Finally, once again, I would like to take this moment to thank God for His blessings and instilling hope in all our hearts because at the center of it all, He made the impossible possible and He will continue to do so by His grace.
Long live Gen. Salva Kiir Mayardit! Long live my country, South Sudan!
Gatwech Peter Kulang (MA), former Chairperson RRC.
