Behaviour Change Through Football 🏆⚽️

Youth Link South Sudan is organizing a Special Youth Mini-Tournament bringing together young people from Gudele One, Gudele Two and Hai Baraka in Juba.

Under the theme:

BREAK THE SILENCE. RECLAIM RESPECT. DRIVE CHANGE.

The tournament uses the power of football to create space for young people to raise their voices against Sexual and Gender-Based Violence (SGBV), challenge harmful behaviours and promote safer, more respectful communities.

The initiative is organized by the State Ministry of Gender, Child and Social Welfare Central Equatoria State; State Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports Central Equatoria State; Central Equatoria State Youth Union; AYOG; Global Voices Organisation (GVO); and YOUTH LINK South Sudan , with support from Amref Health Africa in South Sudan and UNFPA South Sudan

COMMUNITY VOICES, SHARED SOLUTIONS: PEACE DIALOGUE IN RAJA

In Raja County, WBeGs Raja County, Peace Committee members and the team on the ground continue to facilitate weekly community peace dialogues bringing together host communities, refugees, returnees, IDPs and persons with disabilities (PWDs).

The latest dialogue was held in Hai Musteshfa, bringing together community members from Hai Musteshfa and Hai Matar at one central gathering point.

Community members openly shared challenges affecting their daily lives, including limited access to clean water, education for children, healthcare and other basic necessities.

The dialogue provided a safe space for different groups to listen to one another, identify shared concerns and discuss practical solutions. Action points were jointly developed by refugees, host communities, returnees, IDPs and PWDs to support continued community engagement and peaceful coexistence.

Through these regular dialogues, communities are strengthening communication, participation and locally driven approaches to peace.

Youth Link South Sudan, with support from The United Methodist Church (UMCOR), continues to support communities in building dialogue, inclusion and sustainable peace.

SPORTS FOR PEACE: BUILDING UNITY THROUGH YOUTH ENGAGEMENT ⚽🤝

Youth Link South Sudan has handed over sports materials to the Special Youth Leader of Gudelle Block 5 ahead of an upcoming peace-focused sports tournament bringing together Special Youth from Jebel Dinka, Block 5 and Sherikat

The tournament, scheduled for early October, aims to use sports as a platform to promote peace, unity, teamwork and positive relationships among young people across the communities.

Young people are raising their voices against Sexual and Gender-Based Violence (SGBV) and calling for safer, more respectful communities

Youth Link South Sudan is joining young people and key stakeholders in a collective effort to challenge harmful social norms, promote positive behaviour change, prevent SGBV and support community healing.

The initiative is organised by the State Ministry of Gender, Child and Social Welfare Central Equatoria State, State Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports, Central Equatoria State Youth Union, AYOG, Global Voices Organisation (GVO) and Youth Link South Sudan, with support from Amref Health Africa in South Sudan and UNFPA South Sudan.
