𝐉𝐔𝐁𝐀, πŒπ€π‘π‚π‡ πŸπŸ“, πŸπŸŽπŸπŸ” – His Excellency President Salva Kiir Mayardit today met with His Excellency Gen. Taban Deng G*i, Vice President and Chairperson of the Infrastructure Cluster, to review progress on key national infrastructure projects and assess implementation challenges. The meeting was also attended by the Presidential Advisor on Security Affairs, Hon. Tut Gatluak Manime.

During the engagement, President Kiir listened to a comprehensive briefing from the Vice President on ongoing infrastructural developments, with particular focus on road construction and existing bottlenecks affecting implementation. The President emphasized that infrastructure remains a critical pillar for economic growth, national connectivity, and the effective delivery of services across the country.

In his briefing, Vice President Taban Deng G*i highlighted key road projects, including the Pagak–Maiwut–Mathiang and Paloch road corridor, noting that feasibility processes are at advanced stages and that construction is expected to commence upon completion of the required procedures. He further outlined planned and ongoing road developments in the Equatoria region, including Juba–Lobonok, Juba–Yei–Kaya, and Maridi roads, as part of broader efforts to enhance connectivity within the region.

On infrastructure development in the Bahr el Ghazal region, the Vice President explained that several road projects are being undertaken by national and partner companies, with further guidance required on the next phase of implementation. He also indicated preparations for additional road construction, including the Wau–Raja and Burumadina roads.

On broader national priorities, the Vice President raised the need to revitalize the Agricultural Bank, noting that improving its functionality could enhance access to financing, support agricultural productivity, and contribute to easing inflationary pressures.

In response, H.E. President Kiir directed the Vice President to continue coordinating closely with relevant government institutions to accelerate implementation of critical infrastructure projects and address identified bottlenecks.

The President further instructed the Vice President to ensure that the Infrastructure Cluster operates more effectively and delivers on its mandate to meet the infrastructural needs of the people of South Sudan, reaffirming the government’s commitment to development and long-term national stability.
