📍 Community Engagement on Youth, Peace and Security (YPS) Strategy Implementation – Hai Kulia

AfriYAN South Sudan continues to strengthen community participation in the implementation of the Youth, Peace and Security (YPS) Strategy through grassroots engagement.

Yesterday, our team conducted a community engagement session in Hai Kulia, bringing together community members to discuss the importance of the YPS Strategy, its implementation at the local level, and the vital role communities play in taking ownership of the strategy.

The interactive discussions focused on raising awareness of the YPS agenda, encouraging meaningful youth participation in peacebuilding, and promoting collective responsibility in creating peaceful, inclusive and resilient communities.

As part of our mandate, AfriYAN South Sudan remains committed to providing communities with accurate information, building local ownership, and empowering young people to become active agents of peace and sustainable development.

Community Advocacy on SRHR Strengthens Dialogue in Jopa Block 7

AfriYAN South Sudan successfully conducted a Community Advocacy on Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR) yesterday in Jopa Block 7, bringing together parents, adolescents, youth, and SRHR partners for an open and constructive dialogue.

The community engagement aimed to bridge the communication gap between parents and young people while strengthening collaboration with SRHR partners to promote informed decision-making, access to accurate information, and a supportive environment for adolescents and youth.

Through meaningful discussions, participants highlighted the importance of open communication, community involvement, and collective action in advancing the health, well-being, and rights of young people.

Planning for Stronger Community Engagement on Youth, Peace and Security

AfriYAN South Sudan, together with consortium partners, held a strategic planning meeting to strengthen community engagement for the implementation of the Youth, Peace and Security (YPS) Strategy across South Sudan.

As one of the key partner organizations advancing the Youth, Peace and Security agenda, AfriYAN remains committed to empowering young people to become active agents of peace, dialogue, inclusion, and sustainable development. The planning session focused on coordinated community outreach, meaningful youth participation, and collaborative approaches that will bring the YPS Strategy closer to communities.

Through this initiative, AfriYAN and its partners reaffirm their commitment to ensuring that young women and men have the knowledge, platforms, and opportunities to contribute to peacebuilding, conflict prevention, and social cohesion across South Sudan.
