Meet Efag Awad ( Efag Awad )

Efag Awad is a young creative exploring African masks, drawing and animation through her unique artistic style.

Her work brings together creativity, culture and visual storytelling, transforming ideas into expressive characters and illustrations inspired by African identity.

As a student and emerging creative, Efag is part of a growing generation of artists using their creativity to explore new ways of seeing and telling African stories.

This is the creativity growing within our community.

A New Chapter for Digital Skills in Central Equatoria

On Friday, 14 August 2026, Scenius Hub and the Ministry of Information and Communication, Central Equatoria State, officially signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for the implementation of the Digital Innovation for Skills and Knowledge (DISK) project.

The partnership marks an important step toward expanding access to relevant digital skills for young people and the wider public, strengthening livelihoods, fostering innovation, and contributing to the growth of the digital economy in Central Equatoria and South Sudan.

DISK seeks to provide an opportunity to build a more digitally capable, innovative, and economically empowered community.

We invite partners, innovators, young people, institutions, and the general public to explore the potential of DISK and join us as we work together to shape the digital future of Central Equatoria.

WEEKLY RECAP AT SCENIUS HUB

This week at Scenius Hub was focused on innovation, youth engagement, institutional reflection, and community development.

We hosted our International Youth Day Open Day, bringing young people together at Scenius Hub for a day of community, creativity, interaction, and celebration. The open day provided an opportunity for young people to connect with one another and experience the Hub as an inclusive social and cultural space.

We also engaged with UNFPA South Sudan and innovators we have been working with, creating space to connect, exchange ideas, and explore opportunities for innovation and collaboration.

Our Board and Management meetings also continued as part of the ongoing review of Scenius Hub’s vision, performance, and future direction. Discussions focused on the challenges facing the Hub, the impact of its social and cultural activities, lessons learned, and ways to strengthen its work.

The week also featured the Nile Chess Academy Rated Tournament, bringing together South Sudan’s growing chess community for another day of competitive rated chess. The tournament was attended by leaders and officials from the South Sudan chess community, reflecting the continued growth and commitment to developing competitive chess in the country.

Another week of innovation, youth engagement, reflection, and community building at Scenius Hub.
