African Development Bank President Adesina to speak on Rising Global Middle Class on the sidelines of World Bank Spring meetings

Dr. Adesina will join a distinguished panel, including Xavier Becerra, U.S. Secretary of Health and Human Services; Raj Shah, President, Rockefeller Foundation; Andrew Steer, President & CEO Bezos Earth Fund; Ndidi Nwuneli, CEO, ONECampaign; and Ani Dasgupta, President & CEO of World Resources Institute.

Participants will discuss the debt burden developing countries face today and how governments and private sector players can foster economic growth to create greater opportunities.

INTERNATIONAL YOUTH LEADERSHIP PROGRAM 2024
Duration: 9-month program

Tzu Chi's International Youth Leadership Program (IYLP) is a 9-month program for young people aged 20-35 years, aimed at fostering young leaders with an international outlook. IYLP develops and equips youth with skills, knowledge, resources, and practical experiences to become engaged global citizens and transformative leaders. Sponsored by the Buddhist Tzu Chi Charity Foundation, and co-organized by the Tzu Chi International Youth Association (TIYA) and Tzu Chi USA Global Partnership And Youth Department, IYLP delegates will be given opportunities to network with peers across the globe, co-create community service activities, and represent Tzu Chi at international and United Nations conferences such as UNFCCC COP29 held in Azerbaijan in November 2024, among others. IYLP runs from March through November, 2024.

ELIGIBILITIES

3. Applicants must have an interest insustainable development and agree with Tzu Chi's humanistic spirit and philosophy.
4. Applicants must be able to communicate fluently in English in both speech and writing.

FAIDO Organization is currently implementing a project to provide emergency life-saving food and livelihood support to drought-affected communities. FAIDO, a civil service organization, is currently implementing a cash + fishery project in the Zeylac district. This project has received funding from FAO (Food and Agriculture Organization). The dedicated staff of FAIDO based in the Zeylac district has successfully mobilized and registered a group of remaining beneficiaries.

In the coming weeks, these beneficiaries will undergo comprehensive training in fishery capture, post-harvesting management, and nutrition. This training aims to equip them with the necessary skills and knowledge to excel in the fishery sector.

Through this project, FAIDO and FAO are working together to empower the local community and promote sustainable livelihoods. By providing training and support in fishery-related activities, they are creating opportunities for economic growth and improved nutrition in the Zeylac district.
