The Peace Building Course, organized by the Somali Youth Dialogue For Peace Association (SYDPA), is the inaugural cohort of a capacity-building program designed to equip young leaders, community actors, and change-makers with practical skills in conflict resolution, dialogue facilitation, and peace promotion.

This Second cohort represents a diverse group of participants committed to fostering unity, resilience, and sustainable development in their communities. Through interactive learning, mentorship, and collaborative activities.

🌍 Reflecting on an Inspiring Evening of Dialogue and Coherence 💚

Yesterday evening, the Somali Youth Dialogue for Peace Association (SYDPA) hosted an insightful online session titled “Sustaining Heart Coherence: To Create Peace Around Us.”

We were honored to welcome Ms. Virginie Blanchard, Judicial Affairs Officer at the United Nations Transitional Mission to Somalia (UNTMIS), as our Guest Speaker. Her reflections on emotional intelligence, inner balance, and the science of heart coherence offered deep insight into how personal well-being connects to collective peacebuilding.

The session was skillfully moderated by Mr. Zakariya Sky, Director General of SYDPA, who guided the discussion with warmth and clarity, creating a space for meaningful engagement and shared learning.

🕊️ Together, we explored practical tools for maintaining calm, empathy, and coherence — vital qualities for building peaceful communities and resilient leadership.

A heartfelt thank you to our valued partners — UNTMIS and the HeartMath Institute — for their continuous collaboration and support in promoting peace and emotional resilience.

The Somali Youth Dialogue for Peace Association (SYDPA) is pleased to announce Session 4 of our ongoing dialogue series — a platform designed to empower Somali youth and promote peace, justice, and social cohesion.

🌍 Launching Cohort 1: Peacebuilding Course ✨

We are honored to share that the Somali Youth Dialogue for Peace Association (SYDPA) has officially launched Cohort 1 of its Peacebuilding Course — a landmark step in empowering young leaders to drive dialogue, reconciliation, and sustainable peace in our communities.

This course brings together diverse voices from across Somalia, equipping participants with advanced tools in:

🔹 Mediation and dialogue facilitation
🔹 Youth-led community engagement
🔹 Building resilient, inclusive institutions
