We are honored to share photos from our recent distribution in Hargeisa. As part of our 2026 Ramadan mission, we are prioritizing orphan families and those hit hardest by funding gaps to ensure they have a blessed month ahead.

From Mogadishu to Borama, we are delivering over 3,500 packs to support 21,000 of our brothers and sisters.

🔴 Severe drought in the Horn of Africa is worsening — and urgent action is needed to save lives.

According to Islamic Relief’s latest assessment, communities across Ethiopia, Kenya and Somalia are facing extreme water shortages, failed crops and rising levels of hunger. Families are walking longer distances for scarce water, livestock are dying, and children are among those most at risk.

Our teams are on the ground delivering emergency support — including food, clean water, healthcare and cash assistance — but the scale of suffering continues to grow, and sustained humanitarian action is needed now.

For many, cataract-induced blindness is more than a medical condition—it’s a barrier to independence. By bridging the gap for those who cannot afford private care, we aren't just restoring sight; we are restoring dignity.

During his time with us, Mohamed’s leadership and dedication brought significant improvements to his department and strengthened our operations. We are incredibly grateful for his hard work and the positive impact he left behind.

Saynab Mohamoud, a resilient mother of seven, faced the devastating reality of recurring droughts in Ceel-Xume village. As the main provider for her family through farming and livestock, climate change had left her "anxious and constantly worried about feeding her children."

Every morning, she woke up, put in the hard work, but the lack of water and loss of animals meant her efforts were often not enough.

Through Islamic Relief's Drought Recovery Project (DRPII) of Islamic Relief Deutschland, Saynab received vital support: high-quality seeds, farming tools, and training.

"Alhamdulillah, the support has significantly improved our livelihood," she shared. "I have harvested peppers and can feed my family better."

The small income is now helping her pay for school supplies, moving her closer to her dream: "I want my children to finish school and have a better life."

Saynab's story isn't just about growing crops—it's about restoring hope and strengthening resilience.

This initiative, part of the IFSAP Project funded by Islamic Relief UK, aimed to restore and strengthen local agricultural capacity.

Empowering Farmers in Balcad, Middle Shabelle!

We are proud to announce the successful distribution of essential agricultural inputs to support local farmers under the BREAC Project, generously funded by Islamic Relief USA.
This initiative is crucial for enhancing crop protection and productivity in the region. Each beneficiary received a comprehensive package designed to ensure a better yield:

• Pesticides: Malabiso (250ml), King Sky (250ml), Dero Sky (250ml), Tropine Top (500ml)
• Fertilizer: Fert Green (1kg)
• Equipment: Knapsack Sprayer (16L), Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) set

This support is a direct investment in the livelihoods and food security of Balcad community.

Building Hope, One Market at a Time

From the ground up, we’re rebuilding livelihoods and boosting the local economy in Badhan, Somalia! Islamic Relief Somalia, with vital support from Islamic Relief UK, has constructed a brand-new, fully furnished market shed for the local business community.

This initiative is part of our LIWASES project (The Drought Response Intervention for Vulnerable in Somalia), which has been working tirelessly since 2022 to combat the severe drought in the Sanag region. Beyond providing life-saving water and unconditional cash transfers to 1,000 households, we're now focusing on creating sustainable, long-term solutions.

This market isn't just a building; it's a hub of opportunity. It gives local entrepreneurs a safe, organized space to sell their goods, boosting their income and providing essential services to the community. This is about empowering people and helping them thrive, not just survive.
