We recently concluded our second batch of Life Skills for Success Training (LS4S) for youth in ABE Centers. Around 40 students participated the two days training in Jowhar.

SOYVDA organized The Inter-School General Knowledge Competition on July 25, 2024, which brought together the brightest minds from several schools in Balcad district.

The event aimed to foster a spirit of learning and competition among students, encouraging them to broaden their knowledge horizons and improve their cognitive skills.

SOYVDA Organized an artistic session for climate action: The event aimed to motivate youth in ABE centers to take meaningful action against climate change.

During the session, Paintings and other expressions were used to engage future generations of students in conversations about climate action.

Ujeedada tartanka ayaa ah sidii kor loogu qaadi lahaa ciyaar wanaaga, wada shaqaynta iyo jirdhiska dhalinyarada ee degmooyinka kor ku xusan. In ka badan 450 arday oo ka kala socday 32 dugsi ayaa ka qayb galay tartanka. Tartanka waxa soo qaban qaabiyey SOYVDA oo kaashaneeysa Creative Associate International iyo USAID.

SOYVDA concluded the inter school football tournament for youth in ABE centers in Balcad, Mahas and Moqokori of Hirshabelle state.

The aim of the tournament was to promote sportsmanship, teamwork and physical fitness among the youth in the above districts. More than 450 students from 32 schools participated the tournament. The tournament organized by SOYVDA with close partnership with Creative Associate International.

World Environment Day 2024.

On the occasion of World Environment Day, Under USAID Somalia’s Bar Ama Baro Program, SOYVDA in close partnership with Creative Associates International organized a one day event at one of the ABE Schools in Balcad district.

The event aimed to engage youth in ABE centers and Promote the Role of Youth in Climate Change Actions. During the day, several activities were conducted which includes tree planting, school compound clean up, and other activities that will foster environmental stewardship.

SOYVDA participated at a Pause and Reflect session Event for the Bar ama Baro (BAB) Program on May 30, 2024.

The event aimed to assess the effectiveness of the interventions and explore innovative, responsive strategies that can improve the quality of BAB's Program.

During the event, the attendees had several discussions about the importance of the investment in ABE, and to understand its alignment with MOECHE's larger strategy and vision for education in Somalia.

As an effort to preserve, respect and protect our biological wealth, SOYVDA participated “An International Biodiversity Day” organized by UNDP in Somalia and collaboration with Somali Greenpeace Association.

SOYVDA is a part of the plan and encourages everyone to play their roles towards conserving and protecting our natural wealth.

On 16th May 2024, SOYVDA participated in a Youth Workshop on post COP28 follow-up and NDC implementation which was organized by UNDP in Somalia.

The workshop aimed to provide a platform for youth delegates who attended COP28 to share their experiences, insights, and lessons learned as well as to engage in a consultation on the role and priorities of youth involvement in NDC implementation.

Together, we can build a sustainable world.
