Today marks an important milestone for our humanitarian partners and our donors. As humanitarian funding continues to shrink, we remain deeply grateful for the support that enables us to deliver CASH plus assistance to vulnerable communities in Beledweyne, with a focus on riverine villages.
With support from the
(SHF),

RDSA provided timely assistance to farming households—exactly when families needed resources most in order to prepare their land and sustain their livelihoods.
One of the beneficiaries is Hussein Aden Salad, a father of 21 children, residing in Horjoog Village in Beledweyne. His testimony reflects the impact of this support:
“Before receiving assistance from RDSA, our lives were very difficult. We faced many hardships and were unable to cultivate our farmland because we lacked the necessary resources.

RDSA supported us at the right time, when we needed help the most. They provided us with farming tools and equipment, high-quality seeds, and excellent capacity-building training.
The seeds we received included maize, beans, watermelon, and tomatoes. The farming equipment and inputs arrived exactly when the farming season began, allowing us to prepare and plant our land on time.
As a result, we produced enough food to feed my family. My 21 children and I now have sufficient food to meet our household needs.
This assistance has transformed our lives. Before receiving support, I could not afford to buy seeds or fertilizer, and we struggled to meet our basic needs.

Thanks to RDSA’s support, we were able to cultivate our land. Now that our crops have grown, we can provide food for our family and sell part of our harvest at the market to earn income.
We are now able to continue farming during each agricultural season with greater confidence and hope for the future.

I sincerely thank and the (SHF) for their valuable support. I kindly request RDSA and SHF to continue supporting farming communities like ours. In return, we are committed to working hard, improving our productivity, and achieving even better results.”
This initiative demonstrates how timely support can strengthen food security and restore household livelihoods through practical inputs, improved agricultural capacity, and cash-based assistance that enables families to act when it matters most concluded Hussein Salad his message.

RDSA thanks to all our donors Specially SHF and other stakeholders, we really appreciate and say thank you for your continued trust and solidarity to serve the communities in need at the most time.
We look forward to sustaining this impact together through future activities that support resilient communities across Beledweyne and other districts in the country.

Community Engagement – May 2026

In May 2026, RDSA continued its community engagement and sensitization activities across 3 villages: Horjoog, Harcadey, and Shabellow.

The sessions focused on strengthening community understanding of Unconditional Cash Transfer (UCT) programs and Food Security and Livelihoods (FSL) interventions.

Through interactive discussions and practical guidance, participants reinforced key principles of transparency, accountability, community participation, and effective project implementation.

The active engagement and commitment demonstrated by community members and local leaders strengthened local ownership and promoted sustainable, community-led humanitarian action.

We extend our sincere appreciation to all participants and stakeholders for their valuable contributions and continued collaboration.

This was the closure of the project consultation meeting in a deep exit on a community-centered approach.

Together, we continue to build more resilient communities and enhance the impact of humanitarian assistance.
