Yesterday, YEEP Somalia was honored to participate in the MHPSS and Peacebuilding Dialogue organized by Brain Story Organization (BSO). The dialogue brought together practitioners, community representatives, and peacebuilding actors to exchange ideas on strengthening peace through Mental Health and Psychosocial Support (MHPSS) and community-based approaches.

As part of the discussion, YEEP Somalia shared its experiences in implementing Preventing and Countering Violent Extremism (PCVE) initiatives, reflecting on the importance of youth engagement, community participation, and psychosocial support in building resilient and peaceful communities. We emphasized that sustainable peace can only be achieved when young people are empowered to lead positive change and when the well-being of individuals and communities is placed at the center of peacebuilding efforts.

The dialogue provided an excellent opportunity to learn from one another, exchange practical experiences, and strengthen collaboration among organizations working toward a peaceful and resilient Somalia.

We sincerely thank Brain Story Organisation (BSO) for organizing this timely and impactful dialogue and for creating a platform that fosters meaningful conversations, shared learning, and collective action. We also appreciate all participants for their valuable contributions and commitment to advancing peace and social cohesion.

YEEP Somalia remains committed to working alongside partners, communities, and institutions to promote peace, strengthen resilience, and empower young people to become catalysts for positive change.

Together, we can build stronger communities and a more peaceful Somalia. 🇸🇴🕊️

YEEP Somalia was honored to participate in the two-day Youth Event on Advocating for the Endorsement of the Vancouver Principles, organized by Save the Children in Somalia. The event brought together representatives from the Ministry of Youth, youth-led organizations, civil society actors, and development partners to discuss the protection of children affected by armed conflict and the critical role of young people in advancing peace, protection, and advocacy efforts in Somalia. It provided an excellent opportunity for YEEP to engage with key stakeholders, exchange experiences, and strengthen partnerships aimed at promoting youth participation in child protection and peacebuilding initiatives.

The two days were highly fruitful and enriching. Through interactive discussions, advocacy sessions, panel dialogues, and collaborative design labs, participants explored practical ways to advance the Vancouver Principles and strengthen youth-led advocacy for the protection and reintegration of children affected by conflict. We were particularly pleased to connect with representatives from the Ministry of Youth and various youth-led organizations, whose insights and commitment to positive change were truly inspiring. YEEP extends its sincere appreciation to Save the Children for creating this valuable platform for dialogue, learning, networking, and collective action toward a safer and more peaceful future for Somalia.

Promoting women’s rights and expanding leadership opportunities enables women to become key drivers of peacebuilding and community resilience.

Supporting women’s meaningful participation in PCVE initiatives not only strengthens prevention efforts but also builds a more inclusive future where women’s voices, leadership, and contributions shape safer and more resilient societies.

YEEP Somalia, recently attended the 2026 Somalia Cash Working Group (CWG) Annual Workshop hosted by World Food Programme.

Over three days, from February 23rd to 25th, Yeep Somalia team connected with Humanitarian partners, government representatives, private sectors and donors to discuss the progress and challenges of Cash and Voucher Assistance (CVA) in Somalia. It was a valuable learning experience and a chance to hear insights from those dedicated to making a difference in our communities.

Held at the Palm Hotel in Mogadishu, the workshop provided a space for understanding and exploring strategies for the future. While the focus on Cash and Voucher Assistance didn’t perfectly align with our network's key thematic areas, it was still beneficial to engage and learn from different perspectives. we are hopeful about the opportunities ahead! 🙏🏿
