🇸🇴 SYL Day Commemoration – May 15, 1943 🇸🇴

Today, Development Aid Service & Research Organization (DARO) joins the nation in commemorating the historic founding of the Somali Youth League (SYL)— a movement that sparked the spirit of unity, resilience, and national identity for Somalia.

On this day in 1943, a group of visionary young leaders laid the foundation for Somalia’s independence journey. Their courage, sacrifice, and dedication continue to inspire generations.

As we reflect on this legacy, we reaffirm our commitment at DARO to serve the Somali people through development, advocacy, and community empowerment. Let us continue to build a peaceful, united, and prosperous Somalia — for today and for the future.

Arbitrary arrest of independent journalists is a travesty to democracy! While we mostly disagree with his journalist, Mr. Ali Aadan Muumin, his right constitutional right to free speech is worth defending because it's the right thing to do.
Beside that, youth in this country need to be given time and opportunities since they are the future and the lens of the country.

Every Journalism should have that free to speech.

All Somali people and all Muslims around the world I congratulate you on the blessed occasion of Ramadan month.

This month which is full of mercy, worship and forgiveness is an opportunity for us to stand up for the help of our poor people and ease the burden of life.

Also, we should increase the prayers of the Lord in the East, while praying for peace and prosperity for the country and the people.

Lastly, I remind all parts of our society to close the middle of the quarrels that are happening in many areas of the country, as peace and reconciliation with the brothers is one of the best acts of being closer to God, especially in these blessed days.

May Allah accept our good deeds.

To develop and promote social and economic approaches and systems, based on the local
experiences and relevant current theories, which will increase the productivity
and improve the leadership and management cooperatives withing the country is a amazing tasks to be accomplished.

Today is a historic day since Somalia's first Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) conference was formally launched in Mogadishu by SOREC Chairman Sir Abdiaziz Mohamoud Adan.
During his speech, he emphasized the importance of corporate social responsibility (CSR) and the critical role that cooperation between important stakeholders from the government, private sector, non-governmental organizations, and civil society plays.

This historic occasion lays the groundwork for important conversations and projects meant to promote social advancement and economic sustainability in Somalia.

These was really encouraging. Sharing ideas, learning from each other, building capacity and we really appreciate the great work that the Chairman Abdiaziz Mohamoud Adan SOREC-Somalia has to bring it out.

DARO objectives are to enhance the living standards of target communities through support and funding projects in agriculture, forestry, fishery as well as conduct research and develop protection and rehabilitation models.
