HAVOYOCO The Horn of Africa Voluntary Youth Committee (HAVOYOCO) was founded as a Non-Governmental Organization in 1992.

HAVOYOCO was created by the youth of Hargeisa to help the vulnerable people, based on the philosophy that it is the community itself who can best create sustainable solutions to their problems.

HAVOYOCO, in collaboration with the Ministry of Education and Science, has successfully concluded a joint training program in Gabiley aimed at strengthening the capacity of teachers, school principals, and school committees from ECW-supported schools.

The training focused on two critical areas essential to improving the learning environment:

* Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene (WASH)
* Student Safety and Health within schools

The program was officially closed by the Regional Education Officer for Gabiley, who encouraged all participants to actively apply the knowledge and skills gained throughout the training. Emphasis was placed on translating learning into practice to create safer, healthier, and more supportive school environments for all students.

This activity was carried out under the Multisectoral Project to Emergency-Affected Communities in Somaliland, funded by IMS Foundation and implemented by HAVOYOCO.

HAVOYOCO, with support from the IMS Foundation, provided grants to farmers in Elmidgaan and God-Murkud villages under Ceel Afweyn District to assist emergency-affected communities.

Farmers received training, agricultural inputs, and irrigation equipment, improving water management and increasing productivity while strengthening livelihoods and local food production. 🌱💧
