HAVOYOCO The Horn of Africa Voluntary Youth Committee (HAVOYOCO) was founded as a Non-Governmental Organization in 1992.

HAVOYOCO was created by the youth of Hargeisa to help the vulnerable people, based on the philosophy that it is the community itself who can best create sustainable solutions to their problems.

Strengthening Safer Communities in Hargeisa
HAVOYOCO, in partnership with Save the Children, conducted sensitization sessions for teachers, MCH workers, and Child Welfare Committees (CWCs) from four IDP communities in Hargeisa: Qalax, Malawle, Naasahablood A, and Naasahablood B.
The sessions strengthened participants’ knowledge and practical skills on Gender Equality, SGBV prevention, and Conflict Resolution skills, promoting safer and more supportive communities for children and families.

Strengthening Community Capacity for Children’s Wellbeing

Through the Child Sensitive Social Protection (CSSP) Project, HAVOYOCO, in partnership with Save the Children International, trained Child Welfare Committees (CWCs) and Community Champions from Qalax, Iidaan, Malawle, and Naasahablood A IDP settlements on Psychosocial Support. The training strengthened their capacity to provide Psychological First Aid, identify emotional distress, and refer children and families to appropriate support helping build safer, more resilient communities where every child can thrive.
