FAWE Somalia FAWE-Somalia (FAWESOM) is a member of the Forum for African Women Educationalists (FAWE) and serves as the Somalia Chapter.

FAWESOM is a non-governmental, non-profit national organization that has been registered and established in Somalia since 2006.

FAWESOM, which implements the RAJO WANAAG Project in Galkacyo and Harfo districts under the P.O.W.E.R. Programme funded by Diakonia Sweden, organized a football tournament at Cawaale Stadium in Galkacyo on 21 September 2026. The event was held to commemorate the International Day of Peace and support Peace and Justice Week.

The tournament featured two teams representing Harfo and Galkacyo districts. Through this event, FAWESOM commemorated the International Day of Peace, which is observed annually on 21 September.

FAWESOM conducted an environmental advocacy training in Galkacyo District, focusing on promoting tree planting and greening along city streets and in suitable locations across the city.

The training brought together 10 participants representing Doogsan, a tree-planting company in Gaalkacyo, neighborhood chairpersons, the Galkacyo District Administration,the Ministry of Women and members of the Gaalkacyo community

This episode focuses on a two-day refresher training conducted by FAWESOM for healthcare providers in Laas’Anood. It also covers child safety training provided to education partners in Laas’Anood, North East State of Somalia, as well as a child protection awareness-raising activity conducted by FAWESOM for Ministry of Women staff and other project beneficiaries.

Episode Three of FAWESOM’s video series on the SEF Project

This episode focuses on a workshop conducted by FAWESOM on improving school facilities and addressing damaged infrastructure in Laas’Anood following the 2023 conflict. It also covers awareness-raising activities on the importance of girls’ education and addressing cultural barriers to girls’ education in Laas’Anood.

In addition, the episode highlights a balanced diet awareness session provided to 100 mothers who benefited from the project, nutrition training provided to students at Nugaal University, and an advocacy campaign supporting female teachers and promoting opportunities for them to find employment.
