💧 Emergency Water Supply for Vulnerable Communities – Baidoa
Today the Talobeeg Foundation delivered clean and safe water to families living in the outskirts of Baidoa, Southwest State of Somalia.

For many households in IDP camps and surrounding communities, access to water remains a daily struggle. Women, children, and elderly people often spend hours searching for water for basic needs.

Through our Water Trucking Response, we supplied safe water to communities in:
📍 Isha Baidoa Village
📍 Howlwadaag Village
📍 Kaamka Santuur IDP Camp
📍 Gala Arow IDP Camp
📍 Gerdiile IDP Camp
📍 Wayamo Gubey 1 & 2 IDP Camps

This emergency response reached around 800 people, providing water for drinking, cooking, and daily life.

While this intervention offers immediate relief, our long-term goal is to develop sustainable water solutions and resilient infrastructure so communities no longer face recurring water shortages.

🤝 Together we can build a future where every family has access to safe and reliable water.

Emergency Food Distribution in Sanaag Region

The drought continues to deepen across parts of Somalia, leaving many families struggling to meet their most basic needs. In Wardheer Village in the Sanaag region, prolonged dry conditions, loss of livestock productivity, and rising food prices have pushed vulnerable households closer to food insecurity.

In response, Talobeeg Foundation has mobilized an initial emergency food distribution to support the most affected families. A total of 50 vulnerable households were identified through community consultations and received essential food rations to help them cope during this difficult period. Each family received 50kg of rice, 50kg of sugar, 50kg of flour, and 6 liters of cooking oil.
The assistance prioritized those facing the greatest hardship, including women-headed households, child-headed households, families with large numbers of dependents, and households caring for sick or elderly members.

While this intervention has provided immediate relief to these families, it remains only a drop in the ocean compared to the scale of the need. Many more households across the area continue to struggle with limited access to food and safe water.
The most urgent needs remain food assistance, clean water, and cash support in areas where markets are still functioning. With additional support, more families can be reached before the situation worsens.

Talobeeg Foundation remains committed to standing with drought-affected communities, but greater support is needed to expand this life-saving assistance. Together, we can help vulnerable families navigate this crisis and protect their dignity and livelihoods.

Talobeeg Foundation is pleased to share that two of our staff members successfully participated in the full four-day organisational strengthening training organized by CEFA Somalia under the BRIDGES Project.

The training provided a valuable platform for learning and exchange on inclusive governance, conflict-sensitive approaches, and organisational development, using a highly interactive and bottom-up methodology that encouraged peer learning and local ownership.

We appreciate the opportunity to engage alongside 22 Somali CSOs and commend CEFA Somalia for facilitating meaningful dialogue and collective reflection that strengthens civil society’s role in peacebuilding and social cohesion.

International Day of Peace Commemoration in Garowe by Talobeeg Foundation and CEFA.

Garowe, Puntland – 21 September 2025 – The International Day of Peace was commemorated in Garowe with an Art Exhibition under the global theme “Act Now for a Peaceful World.” The event, jointly organized by CEFA and the Talobeeg Foundation brought together diverse groups of the community to creatively celebrate peace.
The exhibition provided an inclusive platform for youth, women, and university students to express their perspectives on peace through painting, drawing, and other artistic forms. Their works reflected hopes for unity, reconciliation, and resilience in Puntland and Somalia at large.

The commemoration attracted a wide range of stakeholders, including members of parliament, media representatives, government branches, and local civil society organizations. Their participation underscored the importance of collective engagement in building and sustaining peace.

In his closing remarks, the Director General of the Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs (MOLSA), joined by other government officials, commended the initiative as a valuable contribution to ongoing peacebuilding and social cohesion efforts. He emphasized the importance of engaging young people and women in shaping peaceful societies, noting that creativity can bridge divides and foster dialogue across communities.

Speaking on behalf of the organizers, representatives from CEFA and Talobeeg Foundation highlighted the event’s role in transforming the theme into practice, ensuring that peace is not just an abstract ideal, but a lived reality built through inclusive community participation.

The commemoration reaffirmed that art is a powerful medium for dialogue, empathy, and healing, and that lasting peace requires the voices and talents of all citizens, especially the younger generation and women.
