PYGO is a grassroots local youths led none profit making organisation formed by local youth, the organization has been in the humanitarian sector since December 2017 & providing services in the areas of Gender Based Violence, Livelihoods, HIV Aids, Women Empowerment and protection. In particular, PYGO works in maternal and child health to ensure that women are supported through their pregnancies h
ave safe deliveries and that their children have access to health services. PYGO offers affordable health care, educates communities regarding safe practices and maternal and child health. The overall goal is to improve the wellbeing of women and girls. PYGO also focused on Youth developments Activities, Social cohesion and youth for peace initiatives; Community led sustainable peace programs, Human rights, and youth volunteers activities, Civic education and Communities common moral obligation. The Organization four main activities GBV, Health/ Nutrition, Livelihood, and Wash programs are the main pillars. PYGO mainly rely on organization members, youth volunteers, well-wishers including local community/ Diasporas, However with the support our youth volunteers team we managed to implement activities in different parts of Gedo region. The organization targets social groups and especially the youth since the workforce is carried by youth and women in promoting livelihood, advocate human rights, climate change, peace building and gender sensitive and also to work security sectors to assure stabilization progress in the area The Organization currently operates fully in Gedo region to build resilience, promote health service especially for mothers and newborn, peace, gender equality, good governance, human rights protection, climate change by protecting the environment, human trafficking and sustainable livelihood to raise the living standard of many citizens. Participation: PYGO believes that participation is vital in the process of empowerment of not only the Youth, but the whole community. Participation and empowerment can be seen as different sides of the same coin. To encourage participation, PYGO intends the community members to be effectively involved in all the stages of design and planning, implementation and evaluation of the development initiatives
Equity: inequalities in rights to and control of resources and power determine the nature and extent of participation, as well as the sustainability of any intervention. Therefore, a strategy to counter inequalities within the communities is an integral part of PYGO interventions. v Sustainability: Even successful short-term interventions are only useful if they contribute to the longer-term impacts on poverty reduction and well-being. PYGO considers sustainability at four angles – social sustainability, organizational sustainability, environmental sustainability, and economic and political sustainability.
