Child Aid Somalia - CAS

Child Aid Somalia - CAS CAS is an indigenous humanitarian non-profit NGO based in Somalia One of the most important principles of its work is impartiality and independence.

CAS is mandated to carry out humanitarian and development programs for child and women protection programs. Its mandate also includes preventive and pre-emptive measurement – in order to minimise and ease the devastating effects of foreseeable disasters. These may include the improvement of disaster management, construction of shelters in areas threatened by floods, and reforestation and erosion c

ontrol to ward off floods. Also included are the cultivation and distribution of drought-resistant seeds in drought-ridden regions, health education and improvement of sanitary facilities, provision of drinking water and medical care to prevent illnesses and epidemics
In its activities, CAS is committed to the basic principles of humanitarian aid as laid down in the Code of Conduct of the Red Cross and Red Crescent and of non-governmental aid organisations in the context of emergency assistance. CAS painstakingly observes its aim not to become an instrument of political, economic or military interests. Particularly in conflict areas, CAS attaches great value to asserting its independence from all parties involved
