Young Volunteers for the Environment Somaliland (YVE SOM) is a youth-led, non-political, non-profit organization headquartered in Burao, Somaliland.

YVESOM youth volunteers actively participated in an Advanced Youth Humanitarian Leadership Training held in Burao, bringing together 20 young leaders organized by SOYDAVO with support from ActionAid Somaliland

The training aimed to strengthen young people’s knowledge, leadership skills, and confidence to meaningfully contribute to humanitarian action, peacebuilding, community resilience, and inclusive decision-making.
A special appreciation to SOYDAVO and ActionAid Somaliland for investing in and empowering the youth of Somaliland.

Today, the team from YVESOM participated in a virtual meeting organized by AFSA to co-design and officially launch a roadmap towards COP32 for African civil society actors in the food systems and agriculture sectors.

The session provided a platform for participants to exchange insights, align priorities, and strengthen coordination in advocating for sustainable, inclusive, and climate-resilient food systems across the continent. Key discussions focused on identifying strategic actions, amplifying the voices of local communities, and ensuring that African perspectives are effectively represented in global climate negotiations.

YVESOM remains committed to contributing to this collective effort and to advancing youth engagement and community-driven solutions in the lead-up to COP32.
