We are happy to share information of our latest project in Somaliland.

To change negative behavioral practices and create new environmentally friendly practices for children and future generations, Somaliland Kvindeforening – Somaliland Women’s Association in Copenhagen (SWA) has started implementing an environmental and recycling awareness project ‘Recycling is gold’ in Burao ♻️.

This project will contribute to establishment of Burao International Library and community-education hub funded by local community and international diaspora.
With financial support from Diaspora Programme (DiPS) and technical collaboration from local partner United Trust Action Organization (UNITA), SWA will engage library staff and citizens of Burao through awareness and community activities. Project activities include also training youth environmental ambassadors, establishing an indoor playground made of recycled goods, and capacity building of school teachers and library board.
