From 21–23 April 2026, CIFOR-ICRAF will host the African States Sensitization Conference on the International Court of Justice (ICJ) Advisory Opinion on Climate Change at the CIFOR-ICRAF Campus in Nairobi and online.

This three-day conference brings together policymakers, legal experts, scientists and practitioners from across East Africa and the Horn of Africa to examine how international climate law can inform action at national and regional levels.

Key topics include:
• Climate justice, accountability and equity
• Policy and legal pathways
• Climate litigation, finance, and loss and damage

Hambalyo Maalinta Caalamiga ah ee Haweenka – 8da Maarso

Maanta waa maalin aynu ku maamuusno geesinimada, awoodda, iyo kartida haweenka iyo gabdhaha. Haweenku waa laf-dhabarta bulshada; waa kuwa dhisa qoyska, kobciya bulshada, isla markaana horseeda isbeddel wanaagsan.

Waxaad lafdhabar u tihiin Islam ka Allah waxa uu سورة النساء اية (١٩) isaga oo dhibka inoo diidaya ku yidhi : قال -تعالى-: (يَا أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا لَا يَحِلُّ لَكُمْ أَن تَرِثُوا النِّسَاءَ كَرْهًا وَلَا تَعْضُلُوهُنَّ لِتَذْهَبُوا بِبَعْضِ مَا آتَيْتُمُوهُنَّ إِلَّا أَن يَأْتِينَ بِفَاحِشَةٍ مُّبَيِّنَةٍ وَعَاشِرُوهُنَّ بِالْمَعْرُوفِ فَإِن كَرِهْتُمُوهُنَّ فَعَسَىٰ أَن تَكْرَهُوا شَيْئًا وَيَجْعَلَ اللَّـهُ فِيهِ خَيْرًا.

Sidoo kale rasuulkeena suuban ayaa xadiis dardaaran ah ku yidhi ‎وفي ذلك يقول النبي محمد ﷺ: «اتقوا الله في النساء فإنهن عوان عندكم، أخذتموهن بأمانة الله، واستحللتم فروجهن بكلمة الله، ولهن عليكم رزقهن، وكسوتهن بالمعروف».

Gabdhaha iyo haweenka qaaliga ahow, ha illoobina in riyooyinkiinnu qiimo leeyihiin. Codkiinnu waa muhiim, awooddiinnuna waa mid beddeli karta mustaqbalka.

Aan sii wadno taageeridda, dhiirrigelinta, iyo kor u qaadidda midba midka kale si aynu u dhisno bulsho caddaalad iyo fursado siman leh.

Ogeysiis Furitaan Rasmi ah – Her Space (Berbera)

Waxaan si rasmi ah ugu faraxsanahay inaan idiin soo bandhigno – Madal Awood-siinta Gabdhaha, oo ah hindise bulsho ku saleysan oo laga aasaasay magaalada Berbera.

Her Space waxaa loogu talagalay in ay bixiso taageero habaysan iyo hagid (mentorship) loogu talagalay gabdhaha da’da 15–19 jir iyo ardayda jaamacadaha. Madashu waxay diiradda saareysaa dhisidda kalsoonida, xoojinta ka-qaybgalka waxbarashada, iyo diyaarinta gabdhaha si ay u noqdaan hoggaamiyeyaal iyo xirfadlayaal mustaqbalka.

Hindisahan wuxuu ka tarjumayaa aaminsanaan adag: marka gabdhaha lagu qalabeeyo xirfado, hagid iyo fursado, waxay si fiican ugu diyaarsan yihiin inay qaabeeyaan mustaqbalkooda isla markaana saameyn togan ku yeeshaan bulshada.

Waxaan soo dhoweyneynaa wada-shaqeyn ka timaadda macallimiin, hoggaamiyeyaasha bulshada, mutadawiciin iyo bah-wadaag kasta oo nala wadaaga aragtidan.

Official Launch Announcement – Her Space (Berbera)

We are pleased to officially introduce – Girls Empowerment Platform, a new community-based initiative established in Berbera.

Her Space is designed to provide structured support and mentorship to teenage girls (15–19) and university students. The platform focuses on building confidence, strengthening educational engagement, and preparing young women for leadership and professional growth.

Our core areas of focus include:

• Personal development and self-confidence
• Academic motivation and life skills
• Career readiness and professional guidance
• Leadership and communication skills
• Safe and guided mentorship discussions

Her Space begins in Berbera as a pilot initiative with the vision of expanding its reach in the future. The goal is to create a safe, supportive, and empowering environment where girls and young women can grow into confident and capable contributors to their communities.

This initiative reflects a strong belief: when young women are equipped with skills, guidance, and opportunity, they are better prepared to shape their futures and positively impact society.

We welcome collaboration from educators, community leaders, volunteers, and partners who share this vision.
