We are delighted to have met with Comhlámh last week in Ireland, discussing the most pressing issues at hand and working together to advance the care reform movement. Collaboratively, we will continue to work tirelessly to promote family empowerment, separation prevention, and care reform in Sierra Leone.

Our U.S. team had the incredible opportunity to visit Slims Africa School, and it was nothing short of inspiring.

Walking through the school, meeting the students, and witnessing the passion of the teachers reminded us why education is the heartbeat of change.

These children are eager to learn, despite facing challenges that many of us could never imagine.

Their smiles, their determination, and their dreams are a powerful testament to the resilience of this community. We didn’t just visit—we listened, we encouraged, and we shared moments of connection that will stay with us forever.

Education is more than books and lessons; it’s about empowering the next generation with the tools to build a better future. We are honored to stand alongside Slims Africa in this mission, and we are committed to continuing our support.

To those who have contributed to this work—your generosity is making a difference. These students are proof that hope is alive, and together, we are helping it grow. To make a donation: https://www.cfpssl.org/donate

Our team from the US not only brought medical supplies to Old Wharf, Sierra Leone—they brought care, compassion, and the willingness to walk alongside a community in need.

The need for medical support in this area is overwhelming, but we know that true impact goes beyond just delivering supplies. It’s about showing up, listening, and being present. It’s about sitting with the elderly, holding the hands of mothers, and offering reassurance to those who feel forgotten. It’s about reminding this community that they are seen, valued, and loved.

From wound care to wellness checks, from sharing knowledge to simply offering a kind word, our mission is to serve with both hands and heart. Every moment spent here reaffirms why we do what we do—not just to bring relief, but to build relationships that matter.

Thank you to everyone who makes this possible—your support extends far beyond supplies. It brings dignity, hope, and healing to a place that desperately needs it. ❤️

Today, we came to you with a need—to secure university tuition for five of our care leavers and you showed up!

These young adults have aged out of institutional care, and while they are stepping into independence, they are doing so without the safety net of family support.

Education is the key to breaking the cycle. A university degree gives them the opportunity to build careers, gain financial stability, and create futures filled with hope rather than hardship. It equips them with the knowledge and skills they need to thrive—not just survive. Most importantly, it affirms that their past does not define their future.

Your support means more than covering tuition fees—it tells these students that they are seen, valued, and believed in. It gives them the confidence to keep moving forward, knowing they are not alone.

Thank you for being part of their journey. Thank you for investing in their future. Because of you, doors that once seemed closed are now wide open. ❤️

In Sierra Leone, orphanges often function as boarding schools. The promise of education and a better life is used in order to take children in. Many children come into orphan care with one or even two living parents. When the child ages out, they are improperly reintegrated. Sent back to their villages where they no longer fit in and often feel like an "alien".

When they entered institutional care, many lost their tribal languages, their village traditions, and even were forced to switch religions.

At CFPS, we first work with the families to give them the tools to keep their family together. We also then help with proper reintegration into a family system, if the care leaver wishes.

👉 Support our efforts to keep families together. Your donation makes a difference.

🌟 "Transitioning from institutional care to independence is challenging, but with the right support, young adults can thrive."

At Mamaw's House, a program of our Family Empowerment and Advocacy Program (FEAP), we support care leavers—young adults who have aged out of institutional care. Many are in their senior years of high school, vocational school, or university. We help them transition to independence and empower them for their future.

👉 Become a Monthly Advocate today. Your tax-deductible donation provides essential resources for these young adults to succeed. www.cfpssl.org

Did you know that in Sierra Leone, many children in orphanages have living families? Often, due to financial hardships, families send their children to orphanages hoping they'll receive education and basic needs. However, this separation can have long-term negative effects on children.

At CFPS, we focus on family reintegration and support to keep families together.

👉 Join us in our mission. Your support helps prevent unnecessary family separations. www.cfpssl.org
