Telecommunications Status Update: 2019–2023
The Ministry of Communication, Technology, and Innovation (MoCTI), in partnership with the National Telecommunications Authority (NaTCA), is driving the government’s mission to ensure affordable and reliable mobile and internet access for every Sierra Leonean.
From 2019 to 2023, significant progress has been achieved, including:
• Expanded access through the extension of the National Fibre Backbone, increased mobile network coverage, and advanced network modernization.
• Lower costs with reductions in wholesale and retail bandwidth prices.
• Enhanced connectivity through greater bandwidth capacity, higher utilization rates, and increased mobile internet traffic.
• Improved infrastructure with the deployment of metro networks, terminal points of presence, and expanded international bandwidth redundancy.
We are committed to building on these advancements, collaborating with private sector partners to address challenges and deliver high-quality mobile and internet services for all.

Our paramount chief of lower banta chiefdom,
*JOHN JIBAO RUSSEL NYAAMA II* has been a great leader in his chiefdom upon his return, he has made significant contributions to the betterment of his people. He has been supporting the flagship program of President Bio on the free quality education by providing financial support for education, from primary to university level.

In the flagship program again of President Bio’s government, which is the feed salone initiative, he has been given financial support to his chiefdom members for their farming activities. This steps show his commitment to the peace and stability of his chiefdom.
