Every young person deserves the opportunity to learn, the confidence to lead and the skills to build a better future.
At Youth Help Sierra Leone (YHSL), we are committed to unlocking educational access, empowering youth leadership and creating pathways to opportunity and development.
For out-of-school girls, young mothers and underserved youth, educational access must include safe, inclusive learning opportunities that reflect their circumstances and ambitions. Practical skills, supportive mentors and opportunities to apply knowledge can help young people move towards greater independence.
Our priorities are clear:
📚 Unlocking educational access: Promote opportunities for young people to develop literacy, digital knowledge and vocational skills, with particular attention to those facing barriers to learning.
🤝 Empowering youth leadership: Strengthen young people’s confidence, encourage community participation and support their meaningful involvement in decisions that affect their lives.
🌱 Building opportunity and development: Connect learning with entrepreneurship, livelihoods and community action so young people can put their abilities to work.
Effective youth development requires consistent support, practical experience and a voice in shaping the opportunities available. Girls and young women must have an equal place in that process.
YHSL welcomes collaboration with educators, businesses, youth networks, community leaders and development partners in Sierra Leone and around the world. Together, we can help more young people access learning, exercise leadership and pursue their ambitions.
