Care for Farmers Initiatives - CFI is proud to announce the ongoing harvesting of our Groundnut Seed Multiplication Project in Kamakwie, Karene District.

This milestone marks a significant achievement in our mission to empower smallholder farmers, particularly women, and promote sustainable agriculture and food security in Sierra Leone.

This successful harvest is a testament to the hard work of the women farmers of Kamakwie to support our mission.

🌱 Empowering Farmers Through Innovation: YaWoCA Training Recap!

On July 20th–23rd, 2025, Care for Farmers Initiatives - CFI represented by our Administrative officer; Musa Sulaiman Kamara joined key stakeholders including the Ministry of Agriculture and other organizations for an impactful training session under the Youths and Women Climate Smart Agriprenuership (YaWoCA) project facilitated by AIDE Sierra Leone, the event equipped participants with essential skills in sustainable farming and agribusiness.

Key Training Highlights:

Participants trained on:
✅ Financial management strategies for smallholder farmers
✅ Branding & marketing of agricultural products
✅ Growth & development strategies
✅ Access to finance
✅ Solar technology in agriculture
✅ Greenhouse & drip irrigation (with hands-on practicals!)

The session concluded with a field trip to Gbendenbu community, where participants explored:
🔹 Greenhouse setup & drip irrigation techniques
🔹 Fertilizer application through water tanks
🔹 Solar panel connections for farming efficiency
