TAWHEED FOUNDATION SIERRA LEONE DISTRIBUTES QURBANI MEAT TO COMMUNITIES DURING EID AL-ADHA CELEBRATIONS
Roshaka Village, Sanda Taindaren Chiefdom – 27th May 2026
In the spirit of sacrifice and community service, as practicalized by Prophet (Abraham, peace be upon him), Tawheed Foundation Sierra Leone carried out its annual Eid al-Adha Qurbani (sacrifice) project in Roshaka Village, Sanda Taindaren Chiefdom.
As part of this year's celebration, the Foundation slaughtered 10 cows and 20 goats, providing fresh meat to hundreds of vulnerable families across Sanda Taindaren Chiefdom villages and parts of Makeni City. The initiative aims to ensure that less privileged families are able to partake in the blessings and joy of Eid al-Adha, regardless of their economic status.
Eid al-Adha, one of the most significant festivals in Islam, commemorates the faith and obedience of Prophet Abraham (peace be upon him). Muslims in Sanda Taindaren honour this noble act through the sacrifice of livestock and the sharing of meat with relatives, friends, and those in need.
Speaking during the distribution exercise, representatives of Tawheed Foundation Sierra Leone emphasised the importance of promoting unity, generosity, and social welfare within communities. They noted that the annual Qurbani project has become a cherished tradition that continues to bring relief and happiness to many households.
Beneficiaries expressed profound gratitude to Tawheed Foundation Sierra Leone, its donor, and partners for their continued support. Many recipients highlighted that the rising cost of meat in local markets has made it increasingly difficult for ordinary families to afford meat regularly. They described the initiative as a timely intervention that enabled them and their families to enjoy nutritious meals and participate fully in the Eid celebrations.
"We are very thankful to Tawheed Foundation and its partners. Due to the high prices of meat, many of us have not been able to buy meat for a long time. Today, our families can celebrate Eid with joy and dignity," one beneficiary remarked.
This humanitarian and religious initiative was fully funded by One Ummah Charity UK, whose generous contribution continues to impact the lives of vulnerable communities across Sierra Leone. Through such partnerships, Tawheed Foundation Sierra Leone remains committed to serving humanity, alleviating hardship, and promoting the values of Islam through sustainable charitable interventions.
May Allah accept the sacrifices, reward all donors and partners abundantly, and continue to bless the communities with peace, unity, and prosperity. Ameen.
